Jameis Winston Saturday antics

The best comments regarding this entire JW matter were from Christian Ponder 'a wife on Game Day. She nailed it.

I know our Coach Craig has an ongoing relationship with this guy and has been very complimentary on the kind of person he is. I don't know him but I can't believe that anyone cannot see that this guy has some very serious character issues and the coddling is making it worse.

What did Ponder's wife say?

How do you know D. Craig is still in contact with Winston since his recruitment to FSU?

Here's a video and article about her comments. I don't think she references Craig.

Ironically she is married to a former FSU QB and their daughter's first name is Bowden, named after bobby Bowden,

Money is what runs the NCAA and it runs FSU also. Until the time comes when the FSU football program is not earning the school buckets of money, then Jimbo can and will do what he wants.

If they are guilty of title IX violations then they will lose lots of money.

Still waiting for one of the ragtag journalists (Evans, et al.) to start stalking Winston and writing all manner of negativity about him like they did Cam.

I don't know how old you are, but I bet you won't live long enough to that happen.

Saw this on the other board. Winston got probably almost as much airtime last night as he would have if he played.

This kid thinks that he is above it all, and FSU has contributed to that attitude. Saw some interesting comments, all rumors atm of course, about this becoming a administration vs athletic department thing and that it started today. So could be a few interesting weeks.

I think the admin is scared of what the Title IX investigation will find out and the consequences of that.

FSU might get EEO complaints too. His offensive verbal outburst could be considered sexual harassment. Several students that tweeted what they heard JW say, then received threats. Hostile workplace.

I'd agree they are. I have a relative that was in an administrative position at Auburn for a long period of time. I just know that there are quite a few things that administration and athletic really disagree on.

Yep. And as this link reveals, ESPN and other media contribute to that attitude as well just by giving him such exposure. I can't decide if he's just stupid, incredibly selfish and self-centered, or truly psychotic (or all three).

I lean toward all three. He is stupid and incredibly selfish and self-centered. The last one may be up for debate.

Agree with all comments on this thread... still can't believe this guy isn't behind bars for what he did to that young woman.

But in the interest of exposing us to other opinions please comments from the dad of Sean Maguire (backup QB).

Jameis didn't prepare McGuire that damn good...lol. IF it weren't for Clempsun being Clemsoned ...FSU would be staring at a big fat LOSS. They handed FSU the game like 3 times. And....I wonder exactly how well Jameis would have done too. Clempsun DL was getting after it for 4 qtrs.

I remember in one of Saban's first years at UAT, he "suspended" a player but the player dressed and warmed up. There was debate on here about what that even meant. Wish I could remember who it was.

DJ Hall?

Well now they are calling it a miscommunication http://www.cbssports...on-dressing-out

Probably so....expect in all the excitement of the game Jimbo did not recognize the kid wearing the #5 jersey throwing passes to his team mates....that's easy to understand.

I can see that.

Jimbo and company merely failed to realize that JW is apparently such a fool that one must text, call, twitter, e-mail, snail mail, write in big letters on his locker, tape it to his forehead, AND personally have at least three coaches shout it in his face before he could understand something as complex as "You're banned the entire game. DON'T DRESS OUT!" <_<:gofig:

Of course he wanted the backup to succeed because his failure would be FSU failure and lack of exposure for JW. Notice he also gave the mom a hug but not the dad. Why didn't he give the dad a handshake/bro-hug combo?

Not really....as I opined somewhere else...what Jimbo was really saying to Jameis was,,,,,this is not a big deal....we are just doing this because of public pressure...don't worry about it.

Seems like since Craig left FSU that Winston has been acting crazy. Winston can turn around or keep going down a dark road. Kid needs as ass whippin

The underlying story is that it is not FSU anymore. It is JWUniversity. If Jimbo can't make sure he doesn't dress out, it makes me question more his judgement. Forget the media hype that already exists, he is dropping the ball. He is not leading he is reacting to JW actions and lack of respect. To go thru the female sexual harassment issues and then shout sexual degrading comments about women in an public union in the presence of women shows a further lack of respect. The young man is in his third year at a major university. He does not represent his University very well. It is about JW to JW no matter what he says. His actions are speaking louder than his words. Jermaine Whitehead was indefinitely suspended for arguing with a coach. He was not prancing around on the sidelines flaunting a suspension.

JW was also redshirted the last year Craig was there. He didn't get the recognition so he was just another of the FSU players stealing drinks, etc..
