Skip Holtz and his sideline curtain................ He calls it a sail, sounds better I guess....

You need one to keep those sneaky Auburn Tigers from seeing your signals.............

Holtz is really concerned his sideline signals will be stolen detected in their home stadium too. Even changing sides of the field and fan seating in their home stadium.

"Being on the press box side is huge," said Tech head coach Skip Holtz. "It is not so much the sun. Signals are a big part of this game; signaling plays, defenses and people stealing signals. Sometimes occasionally that may occur. I think it is important to be able to signal and not have three coaches with binoculars on you. It is an advantage defensively when you know what play they are going to run offensively. It can be a large advantage.

"I think to have the opportunity to be able to hide those signals with your back (to the press box) is great. I have had people ask about the big sail the defense carries around with them on the sideline. It is to hide as many signals as we can. I think that is a big part of it. I enjoyed having the students behind us, but I think it will be better to have students and other energetic fans sitting right behind the opponents. I encourage the students to come out. Like Dorothy said, there is no place like home."

I am sick of all of this stealing play signals. I feel that if you call a play that the defense knows what is coming, is just part of the game. It has happened since way, way back in the day.

I say that the play called with signals is picked by the other team, then so be it. Why don't we just have both teams to give their opposition a list of the plays that they are going to run during the game. Maybe not in the right order. This would be fun to watch. I think that Gus & Rhett could still out call the opposition.

If you execute the play, it doesn't matter if they know what's coming or not!

Precisely. Auburn from last year is a prime example. Everybody knew what they were going to do but nobody could stop it. They just executed to perfection.

Just have interchangeable wristbands with different plays numbered and have one signaling in the correct number and 1 or 2 decoys. Then change wristbands every series or 2. No way to crack that and looks a hell of a lot better than a freaking "sail".

All you needed to do was have someone on the sideline to the right of their position and you could see everything, they were trying to block the booth it was annoying to say the least

They can steal our signals. All you have to do is figure out which 4 picture board is the right one, decide which picture is hot, which of the 3 guys waving their hands like a crazy man is the one sending the signal, which signal is the right one, do that in about 15 seconds, get it to your defense so they can use it before the ball snaps. After you do all that, make sure Gus didn't send a player into the game with the real play.

It's too easy to steal our signals. We may need to get a blue tarp too.

I think we get out own blue tarp, hide the three guys behind and let the real signal caller just stand out like normal - the opposing teams would be so busy try to find the "signal behind the sail" that they would ignore what was in plain sight.
