SCruzTiger 0
Most incredible stat: LSU 0-13 on 3rd down ^^ That was VERY IMPRESSIVE! And it is made even more impressive considering they averaged almost 7 yrads on first down. So, most of those third downs were after 2nd and short. Also impressive is that we have yet to allow a point off of turnovers this season. This D knows when to clamp down.
Dual-Threat Rigby 7,085
Stat you mind digging the 1st down percentage in the first half. I know the whole game is probably muddied since Malzahn basically turned into Conservative Connie in the second half.

Seemed like all of those three and outs featured a 2nd and short.

Seemed like all of those three and outs featured a 2nd and short. Yeah, it was incredible. The only things I noticed that bothered me during the game were that we were not productive on 1st down and LSU was extremely productive on 1st down. The result of the game, however, was excellent. We just made it a lot tougher on ourselves with our performances on 1st down on O and D both. Nick was extremely sharp passing to open the game, though. That helped an awful lot to keep the chains moving. Great win! War Eagle!
cptau 125
The LSU punter seemed to have extremely good hang time on his punts resulting in a low avg for our punt returns since we had to take several fair catches and when we did try to catch and run lsu was close by to make the tackles. StatTiger 2,972
Question Stat. Why is 6 yards on first down the benchmark? Just curious. Thanks for the post. The average on first for an AU offense 1992-2014 is 5.82 yards. I rounded it off to 6.0.
