No one wants to shift FSU off the top even if they haven't looked stellar. They just won't lose unless ND can come in and make them look bad.

Notice that even with 7 free points given to them Alabama's loss still keeps them right under the unbeatens.

Uat is imo the best 1 loss team. Soon they will be the best 2 loss, 3 loss or could be the best 4 loss team by season's end. LOL

The drop by Alabama is in line with most everybody else. It isn't like they only dropped a couple and everyone else lost 7 spots.

Most coaches didn't see this game... Some have simply seen someone else's highlights, others may have actually read the box scores, and a few I'm sure vote what's to their benefit. If this was the Retired Coaches Poll maybe I'd believe they've seen enough to have a realistically valid view point. Just knowing the game doesn't mean they know by Sunday morning what happened while they were hard at work.

I think we can go into Starkville and come away with a 17 point win over the dogs. I see a 34-17 win. What was up with the Ole Miss kick-off they made it a- 14-10 score when bammer fumbled ? That should have been Ole Miss ball.

surprised Utah isn't ranked. Georgia shouldn't be ranked that high. Their whole team is todd gurley

I would say Gurley and the other RBs. All their RBs are outstanding.

K State should be rated much higher...

Agree. But... they have a big one against Oklahoma this week (I think) so they'll have their shot to prove it. I don't watch Big XII games much, but I'm looking forward to that one.

Can we officially get rid of the ap poll? Or reconsider whole was votes in it? There's no way ole miss and miss state really tied. That was done by whoever publishes the votes to make an interesting narrative.

It actually makes sense where alabama fell because ole miss was ranked too high as is (for our local conspiracy theorists I'm sure they ranked ole miss so high just to make it not so bad if Alabama were to lose).

Not too sure why but I feel like it's a down year in college football any year when miss state and ole miss can conceivably tie for 3rd!

You gotta think the selection committee is starting to sweat. Things are getting weird.

Still a lot of sorting out left to do. This month is going to weed out a lot of teams. It gets like this every year. People start talking about how to pick the teams but it generally sorts itself out.

It's definitely been a strange year. But there is no excuse for the AP poll. How the hell does the miss teams jump all the other undefeated teams. Man writers across the country must be scrambling hard for a story. What a joke.

Another point: Fsu comes to life in the second quarter to beat the worst team in college football and all of a sudden they are back to #1? I don't get that.

I think the AP poll is better than the coach's poll. Throw out a few crazy outliers and the AP poll is pretty solid. The coach's turn the voting over to some office flunky who votes however until the final week or so.

I honestly think the polls need to go away, but they won't due to ESPN needing to cause controversy and make up headlines.
