I am so pumped, I'm about to burst. I am bringing my wife and two sons to Auburn this weekend. This will be their first "big" college football experience. It will also be my first time in Auburn since the Bowden era ( I know...I know...). I feel like a kid the night before Christmas.

You guys and gals have been my connection to Auburn for the last however-many-years I've been on this site. I can't express how much this has meant to me. I'm an orange and blue sponge, and I can't wait to soak it all in this weekend. War Eagle!

I think you will be pretty stunned by all the changes on campus and around town. My wife and I went five years between visits after the birth of our son (our first game back was last year's Iron Bowl, not a bad choice) and even in that amount of time things looked significantly different. It seems like there are constantly new buildings going up.

Congrats on the return trip. I was there in the Bowden era as well and things have changed around the campus. Be sure to plan some time to stroll around and see the sights and give the family the full experience.

You will be SHOCKED at how much the campus has changed. Or, at least I was when I made a return trip about three years ago after a 10+ year absence.

The Bowden years: 47-17-1. Not exactly a bad time to be in Auburn. And yes, it will be shockingly different, but still Auburn.

I am sure it will be a great experience. I don't know where you live or how old your kids are, but be prepared for sending them yo AU because they will not consider another school after this weekend. Hope you are staying at the Auburn Hotel & Dixon Conference Center. Such a beautiful accommodation and adjacent to the campus.

This. Enjoy your time, and yell for those of us who can't make it. WDE!

True story: took two of my nephews to the iron bowl last year. They are from Florida and had plans to go to UF. Not only was it their first AU game, but their first college football game!

Needless to say, they're hooked on auburn now.

To the OP, if you need anything while in Auburn, send me a Pm and we can get it done! Hope you have a nice time and War Eagle!

My boys are 13 and 10. It's gonna be a shock to their system. We live in north Louisiana, so we get excited anytime we see anything or anyone wearing Auburn gear.

I appreciate the offer for sure!

The wife and I took in our first Auburn game in 25 years at the LSU game. We had been back to campus a couple of times and seen most of the physical changes, but this was our first game since we graduated. It was an amazing experience, but went by way too fast. The biggest change I noticed was the tailgating. It was nothing like that when we were in school.
