Cinmeon Bowers was named the SEC Player of the Week following his 18-point, 17-rebound performance in Auburn's season-opening win over Milwaukee, the conference office announced on Monday.

Bowers, a 6-fooot-7 forward, pulled down an Auburn Arena record 17 rebounds, which were the most by an Auburn player since Korvotney Barber had 18 in 2009. His double-double was the first in a season-opener for an Auburn player since Kenny Gabriel went for 18 points and 13 rebounds in the inaugural game at Auburn Arena in 2010.

Bowers is in his first season at Auburn after spending two seasons at Chipola College. Prior to Bowers, the last player to record a double-double in his Auburn debut was David Hamilton, who scored 11 points and pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds in a 114-60 win over Southeast Louisianan to open the 1998-99 season.

It was definitely Barkley-esk. I know its early and he's got along way to go but as far as the start 18 & pulling down 17 is a Barkley line.
