Are all now with the team?

The four freshmen will be with the team in January when classes start back.

Yep. He's gonna give us the ol John Hancock on the 17th. I know he wants QB, but is that where most see him being, or do most see him at WR? I figure that's where he'd make the most impact, no?

He's a great athlete, Marshall like, to be honest. I would love to see him at slot. No one will be able to stop him.

Yep. He's gonna give us the ol John Hancock on the 17th. I know he wants QB, but is that where most see him being, or do most see him at WR? I figure that's where he'd make the most impact, no?

I'd say where ever Gus thinks he'd for best. WR more then likely. QB isn't a position of need at the moment at least. He is a great athlete regardless. A lot of people compare him to NM but I'm on the fence with that accusation.

i admit i cant judge to well by juco film. I was not impressed with Cam or Nmarshall's juco film. smith is a confident as any player i have heard. before this season he proclaimed he had more to offer than Marshall.

I saw an article earlier that suggested Smith could also be considered at CB--though I doubt that.

Anyone know the name of the walk-on punter? I'm hoping we can get a punting specialist so Carlson can just consentrate on FG's and Kickoffs. A kid that can boom it for a 40+ average.

I agree he should be strong at the slot position but saying that no one will be able to stop him? Let's not go all Trovon Reed status just yet.

Love these discussions....for a good part of the season there were some vocal folks who were convinced that JJ was a better QB than Nick and were calling for Nick to take a seat.

Now it turns out that a JUCO quarterback with modest stats, who has never taken a snap at Div 1 level is equal to or better than JJ....and should spend 2 his 3 years of eligibility chasing the starting QB job. And should do this while we try to find replacements for about 90% of our pass receiving yards if the expectations about Duke and Sammie are correct.

Should be an interesting spring.

Sigh. Drag it to another thread and make some stuff up, why don't ya? Nobody said Smith was equal to or better than Johnson or White. All anybody said- and make no mistake, we have said it over and over again- is that it's possible. You, on the other hand, keep saying that you know that it isn't. I just wish you'd point out some specifics from the hours of his film that you've evidently compared to Johnson's and White's that lead you to that conclusion.
