Check out his stats http://www.maxpreps....tball-stats.htm and his hudl video for yourself and you tell me what's really going on http://www.hudl.com/...lights/61843375

Those kind of videos only show positives, not weeknesses. Evalling them would be pointless.

I see everybody saying he's good but he's not getting big time offers, can anybody that has watched him give an evaluation? What are his weaknesses?

Fwiw people who watched him more than a few times the past couple of years does not think he would be a quality SEC player. They say at best he's likely a depth guy.

Well maybe they need to check their resources and make sure they're talking about the RIGHT Jared Gentry! View his stats and hudl video he should be a 5 Star player http://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/jared-gentry/7hyaj_TuEeKZ5AAmVebBJg/gendersport/football-stats.htm http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1629014/highlights/61843375

Well I guess any and everybody should be able to play in the Alabama vs. Mississippi All Star game as well, with players who are 5 star players who have committed to a school and has several other offers from other schools.

Dude. You don't need to shove the same info and videos down my throat you already posted. The info I posted came from people that know far more about football than I and have been doing it for many years. I trust him more than you with all due respect. There is no point in blasting the sunshine on this kid. We are not the coaches and have no say on his offer. The one who does, Will Muschamp, is not heavily interested right now. That may change if we don't get Kendrick Norton but I highly doubt it.

You're right at the end of the day it is what it is, but the question is this if Auburn does offer him a scholarship would he even go, that's for him to decide not Muschamp or no one else, with all the teams changing staff who knows what will happen I guess we will have to find out on Signing day!

My mom still thinks my high school highlights were NFL worthy, but not one single college program offered me...

Wow, sorry to hear that, however, Jared Gentry has offers and I'm sure his mom feels the same about him

Ellitor's point was that highlight film's produced by players only show their best plays often made against inferior talent. Statistics can lie also if your stats get inflated when you play weak competition a couple of big games against weak completion can make your stats look really good. A knowledgeable coach who watches a few games see's the player's strength's and weaknesses.

I have seen his highlight film and it looks very good to me. I also see his measurable (Height and Weight) and it also looks good to me. So I am one of the ones who has said he is worth a look. Ellitor says our coaches have seen him play a few times and are not as impressed as I was by what I saw since they do this for a living and the scouting services also don't have him rated that high I know they know more than me. From what I was told he did do very well in the Alabama/Mississippi All Star game that probably did help his stock but apparently not enough to be considered a solid SEC prospect. As far as I have seen none of the Top Tier teams have offered him so it is not just the Auburn coaches who don't think he has the stuff.

More power to him if he proves everybody wrong but as I said above none of the Other SEC schools are offering either.

Ive heard Kentucky is really high on him and very likely to offer soon. He also has offers from CINCINATTI, SOUTHERN MISS, MEMPHIS, and TROY... just to name a few. He's been taking on double and triple teams all year during his senior campaign, which has allowed others to dominate one on one matchups, such as QUANDESKI WHITLOW, which has earned him several Division 1 offers as well. He is impossible to block one on one with his incredible footwork and hands. He really moves quick for a 6'3 300 pounder..scoring touchdowns on offense and defense. Remember his name, because he's going to be a complete steal!

Ameer Abdullah didn't have SEC talent either according to many experts and many SEC coaches. Videos and highlights don't show two major components in the making a superstar, heart and desire. Abdullah had both. Gentry may also. He proved his desire against some of the best from the state of Mississippi. He seems like a good kid. I think he will do well for himself.

Abdullah had a lot of good offers; SEC teams included. No idea what you're talking about.

Auburn actually liked Abdullah they knew he was a baller but we liked the ones we had signed more.

I'm sure you know what you are talking about. I know what I am talking about. He had offers, many of which according to family, were conditional or non-committable. This included Auburn, Miss State and S.Carolina among others.

No offense, but his list of other offers seems to speak way more to why we haven't offered him than why we should

That's how I remember it too. In spite of all his success at Nebraska, had Abdulla come to Auburn I don't see him putting Mike Dyer, Tre Mason or CAP on the bench. He'd have probably made a very good defensive back for us.

He's definitely better than CAP

Even if I concede that, which I don't, that means Abdulla would have rode the pine here for three years before he got to be the #1 RB. I don't think we were stupid to ask him to play DB, and obviously he wasn't stupid to choose Nebraska instead. Everybody won.

He wasn't in the same recruiting class as CAP, he was in Tre's class. I prefer Tre.
