The next Pentagon boondoggle

The defense dept. tends to like shiny new expensive toys. Technology is a good thing and it has helped our military out tremendously. At the same time some of these technological advances look good on the surface while not being practical but yet they persist with wanting these things. The latest is the railgun which, is supposed to be a big upgrade over the current guns aboard Navy ships.
