The only way to fix it woul be to hold athletes tothe same academic standards as other students, save ACT scores etc. They could still cheat but it ould be harder, and fewer gifted athletes would enroll. AU64 10,122
JMO but the colleges are not very motivated to put an end to this. UNC-Ch had stuff going on for almost 20 years under several ADs and three big name basketball coaches and the two people that tried to blow the whistle were fired and their reputations damaged. Eventually the issue became too widely known to hide so an outside firm was hired to study and report. So now the report has been circulated and a few lower level academic people scapegoated and there is the appearance that it will be swept under the rug. All because basketball was a huge money-maker for the school and nobody wanted to stop the flow of $$ from alums and revenue. From time to time a few people will be nailed for the cheating but the big schools and big coaches will not be questioned. NoALtiger 3,484
So some kids Momma got pissed and basically brought this thing down, classic. The world of college basketball recruiting has to be one of the dirtiest businesses around. Just a jumbled mess.
