Totally expected to see a smattering of Saban all over my TV Monday night so this is a pleasant surprise.

Gus will be a good analyst to talk about the two offenses.....especially since Urban brought a 21st century scheme to the Big Ten.

So...on a related question....how many points will the winning team score in the championship game? 37?

Great for Gus and Auburn. Isn't this usually something that is reserved for the previous NC Winner? Why not Jimbo? LOL. Yes, that was a joke. I guess they figure he's had enough face time and no one believes a word that comes out of his mouth.

Great exposure but it is a shame he canceled a long ago scheduled speaking engagement at the AFCA Convention to do so. Oh well I suppose in the world of college coaches commitment just means something I will do until a better gig comes along.

You don't turn down an invitation from ESPN to work on the day of the national championship game. Every other guy there wishes they were going to be there doing what he is. Really and truly how big a deal is a speech at a convention? Most conventions I've ever been too the speeches were not the highest priority for the attendees.

I hate to be a debbie downer but apparently saban was supposed to appear. http://www.al.com/al...2.html I'm not sure who said no, saban or espn. Either way, it is good for Coach Malzahn to get the opportunity. He will do well.

Not that there is much of a pattern but the coach from the pervious champion has been on to comment...which would have been Jimbo...but have not seen his name mentioned....so Nick was a reasonable choice I guess....who cares whether Nick said no....Gus will be there and it's good for AU. WE

I wonder if they even asked Jimbo. It would have been a lot of questions asked that I'm sure he didn't want to have to answer.

This is a head scratcher. I really doubt that bspn turned saban away - not with their love fest for the little guy. They appear to be ready to offer him "ownership" of the network if he will come to work for them when he's through coaching. And I can't see the little guy turning down an op to get his name/program in front of millions and have the network stooges falling all over him. Maybe he's just tired of having to answer WHY his almighty team fell apart the last 35 minutes of the "practice game" leading up the the main event.

As stated, either way, it is CGM op to get face time with millions.

Why wouldn't they want the almighty Satan, I mean Saban at the NC game.

I hope Gus wears his Auburn vest!

I'm pretty happy with Gus but am I the only one that things Gus and Nick are really not that good on gameday type shows? I bleed orange and blue but in truth would rather listen to Les Miles and Steve Spurrier - they make me laugh. I get dizzy watching Saban with all of the hand gestures.
