Men vs Florida Post Game Thread

In first half for some reason we did not try and get it to Bowers down low and then when he would swing out front away from the basket we would shoot a three so we had no rebounder. In second half we tried to get the ball to him down low and when Thompson was in he would cut down lane to give him a pass or pull off a player. Thompson got a layup and afoul shot one time and got fouled but not called another time.

Problem was Florida had to much speed and to many rebounders. Almost every Florida player was bigger then his opposing Auburn Player. All that said they showed a lot of heart coming back and playing hard.

Sloppy play early and when you're down 17 at half, it's hard to come back from that when the other team is way more talented then you. It's a foundation for what's to come. We are not the laughing stock of the SEC in basketball anymore and Bruce Learl will get us back to the tourney one day.

This was gonna be a tough game to win so I'm not surprised by the outcome. UF is a fine team that is well coached and has good players with depth to spare. We could have shot a little better but all in all it was alright. We are better than we were and we're gonna win some more for sure. Bruce is doing a fine job.

We almost beat them twice last year.

Horse shoes and hand grenades

So it's better to shoot less than 30% and get blown out?

It's baffling that year after year and coach after coach we keep getting beat for the same reasons...turnovers, we can't shoot foul shots and can't hit the 3s regularly. Anyone see anything on the horizon for the next few years that will be different?

There isn't too many teams that hit threes consistently. All problems has to do with recruiting players. And in our case first year in a particular system usually means turnovers and poor shooting percentages (minus free throw)

If they can eliminate the slow starts they'll be a lot better. They don't quit and Florida is a very talented team. Lets go knock off USCE Saturday. The arena should be rocking. Be a great atmosphere. I wish I was in a position to be able to go see them but I'll be here cheering them on as always.

The best recruiting class in a long time and a proven coach .

Not sure who you are talking about...mostly a group of one or two year players. We will be losing the best players after this season...when Mason, Harrell, Canada and Ross-Miller leave, most of our points are gone too.

Kareem Canty is a player. Saw him in the open scrimmage earlier this year and couldn't tell if it was him or Ross-Miller but I remember really hoping the guy scoring all the points and making all the plays was Ross-Miller. It turned out to be Canty, who we'll have next year. Ross-Miller is definitely a step up from past point guards but I look for Canty, Tahj, Bowers, and the new 'cruits to be able to really do well next year. We'll be bigger which will help produce more points as well.

Recruting class coming in. 4 are nominated for McDonald's All American team. Lots of positives.

Anyone who thinks this year is indicative of what to expect from Coach Pearl is sadly mistaken. He had to cobble together whatever he could just to have a team this year. With his first recruiting class this year, we will probably have the most talent ever recruited. It will only get better with CBP. He is laying the foundation for the great teams to come. Even bitter rivals readily/begrudgingly admit that once he gets his recruits in, AU will be a force in the league.

Future is so bright, we need to be wearing welder's masks.
