Auburn Softball v/s Mercer

The Tigers scored 7 runs in the bottom of the first but Mercer has cut it to 7-3 going to the bottom of the 4th. Mercer had the bases loaded with no outs but managed a run on a hit batter and a run with one out on a single but two runners were thrown out at 3rd and 2nd (respectively) to end the threat. Wild play.

That was an interesting "double play" at 3rd base. Two Mercer runners ended up on the base. The AU player tagged them both while they were standing on the bag. The "trailing" runner who came from 2nd base was the only one who was actually out but the other player stepped off the bag and then she was tagged out.....it was a mistake on her part in the confusion. You can see it on replay on Watch ESPN at roughly the 1hr 30 min mark in the replay. Heads up play by Auburn to stop the Mercer rally.
