TheBlueVue 177
Am I the only one laughing at Obama's reasoning for vetoing this legislation? It hasn't had enough time to be sufficiently analyzed? 2200 days is not enough time? Or that it circumvents the process? Really? I'll give Obama credit for one thing...he has no problem solemnly playing the "heads I win, tails you lose" game in all situations all the time. http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/president-obamas-veto-means-keystones-future/ Even the State Dept has verified that XL would create 42,000 jobs but, they love to point out, they're temporary. I guess the brilliance coming from the thinkers on the left has blinded them ALL to the fact that ALL construction jobs, by definition, are temporary. You complete one job and move on to the next. I guess the question becomes is the pay better being a temporary barista at Star Bucks or a temporary pipe fitter on the XL pipeline? This veto is about control and exerting it simply to satisfy the far left. Its not about the environment because XL is far more environmentally conscientious than moving the the unrefined oil sands by train or shipping them to China. One last question.....tell me again,.... how many of those shovel ready jobs the much bally-hooed economic stimulus created? Any?
