Have you considered what the consequences would be if, they blocked DHS funding and, we had a terrorist attack? I give them credit for knowing not to play that game.

Easy ways to get around that, which would fully fund the actual security part of DHS. However, a separate matter, is why do we even NEED a DHS in the first place ? I think it needs to be phased out.

I love how libs always paint worst case scenario straw men that would NEVER actually happen. I have a better question...when we have a terrorist attack that is directly attributable to Obamas open borders policy; ya think there will be ANY consequences? I dont, because Obama and his minions will cook up an expedient lie that lays the blame on republicans and the MSM will report it like its a fact.

The new majority in the US right now isn't 51%. It's more like 38-40%. With so many people (like myself) turned off by the actions in DC it creates a watered down version of a majority.

As long as the establishment republicans maintain control of the party, they'll never stand for a damned thing. They have just launched a $400, 000 ad campaign against Jim Jordan and several others for not voting for amnesty. Amazing they are more interested in controlling the party than representing the people who elected them.

I don't disagree but first, you have to separate the vital departments that have fallen under DHS authority.

Or they can put line items in the budget that separate DHS functions.

Hmmm. I wonder why Bush didn't seal the borders after 9/11? Who would know the realities of our southern border better than a form Governor of Texas?

Yes, you got me. It is a straw man. Yet some how, in the very next sentence you say it could happen. LOL! Too funny!

Problem is the GOP leadership appears not to be able to figure anything out. Why not just invoke the nuclear option like Reid did?

One word. NO!!. The Republicans are not willing to stand up for anything because they don't believe in anything. They like government just as much as democrats do. They just want to be the ones in charge of the money.

Both major parties may be changing soon in ways they are not expecting. A third party may soon appear for while. We haven't had a real 3rd party that grew into a major party in over 150 years.

I quit worrying about the Repubs doing much somewhere between 2004-2005.

Hastert was throwing borrowed money at every crazy idea that came down the path.

Bush43 didnt veto anything.

I am sorry, but i am not upset at the Reps right now.

I quit thinking there was any real difference between the two parties long ago.

I think the GOP's biggest problem is, that they do not stand for anything but rather, against something. They are so busy fighting the "liberal menace", demonizing all things "progressive", and playing politics, that they have forgotten about the basics of policy and governing.

The right wing is very good at specifically criticizing the left but, is very poor at defining their own specific policies. Small government, lower taxes, and strong defense are great. However, those are somewhat vague concepts. I have to ask, how are you going to effectively do those things?

1) The Reps are basically falling back to a stable govt model.

2) Their rhetoric to get elected cant match being a grownup in DC and actually running the govt.

3) The mouth breathers are going to start the conspiracy filled emails and shooting those who arent true believers soon.

4) Either the Tea Party grows up, or it moves on.

Meanwhile, the Dems are just gonna turn into the Uterus Party and keep screaming failed campaign dogma like: "War on Women!"

"Americans cant elect a woman." Americans are misogynists." etc.

Mark it down, i will say it first, barring a huge scandal by the Republican nominee, HRC will not get elected just because people are TIRED of HRC. The rank and file Dems maybe arent tired of HRC, but there will be no passion to support her either. HRC runs a Romney campaign to a good show, but second place.
