At UCLA, a culture of equating 'Israel' with 'guilty'

It isn't just UCLA. It's a common theme across many college campuses. It's the prevailing attitude of the left and, sadly, many on the right as well. For some reason it's the fault of Israel that Iran, Hezbollah and all the rest want to wipe them off the face of the earth. Anti Semitism is running high across Europe as well.

I'm done trying to figure out the Left's motivation for being so blindly anti Israel. My only guess that makes sense is that if the Right " conservative Christians " are for it, then the Left are 180 degrees against it. No matter what.

Personally, I find these sort of threads inane and insane. Can you really define people or, groups of people, this way?

Maybe I am missing something but, is it really that black and white?

Muslims bad, Israelis good. Liberals bad, conservatives good.

For the most part yes. The world isn't as grey and nuanced as people want to make it out to be. It just makes them look and feel superior to pretend they are much smarter than the simpletons that believe otherwise. I'm no genius itchy. If I can figure this out anyone can, if they will just open their eyes. Edited by cooltigger21

In talking with many folks over the years about his very issue, I have come to realize that there are some that are so upset about the manner in which Israel came into being that they feel that no matter what, Israel is illegitimate and therefore is in the wrong on almost every issue, even in defending itself.

At the risk of sounding like Hillary Clinton, at this point, what matter does it make? We cannot undo 66 years of history. What would we do with the Israelis even if we could?

The real answer here is that we need to find peace, and you cannot find peace with people that are sworn to exterminate you.

I respectfully disagree. I believe it only works that way if you choose to judge with prejudice and bias. If you do, it is too easy to judge by the best, or worst, of the actions of a group.

Boy, step into to the real world CT. The world is a gray oblivion.
