Two college athletic associations?

Notre Dame AD Jack Swarbrick thinks it is a distinct possibility. Very interesting read. http://www.cbssports...ic-associations

Judging by the teams in the FCAA and semi-pro league, Vanderbilt, Cal, Stanford, and Virginia has to be sweating bullets.
That vision portends a future when schools won't necessarily be defined by their conferences but by their core beliefs.
Do we really want this?

Interesting, one of the biggest and most crooked private universities in athletics is not on that list, Southern Cal.

Leave it to Notre Dame to be perfectly fine doing away with conference affiliation and diminishing it altogether.... They are STILL independant in football and just recently joined the ACC in all other sports. Screw 'em.

Don't tell me that bama or Texas or a couple other schools would not consider doing the ND thing if they thought they could get away with it. BYU tried without success.

And don't think that the power schools really enjoy sharing their revenue with the Vandy's and Wake Forest's of the world....probably view them as necessary evils. Soon as the schools start paying the players with cash money, we will see the semi-pro schools form their own conferences....a matter of time IMO.

I think you missed his point.
