Couric was Awful as an anchor. So bad, she started looking for a way out shortly after the 2009 Inauguration.

Now she wants back in as the NBC News Anchor? WHY? Lester Holt is doing a magnificent job.

Keep Lester, he's more like the old style anchor from what I've seen. Give us the news and hold the fluff and opinion for others to do. Lester holt will do well if they give him the chance.

Couric wasn't a terrible anchor. They just tried to "revamp" the format of the nightly news program with her and it just didn't work. But she's capable of just reporting hard news.

That said...Lester Holt is more than ready to take this job over. If I was going to give the NBC Nightly News to a woman anchor, I'd kiss and make up with Ann Curry. She is much better at that serious news format than Katie. Or see if Campbell Brown wants it.

I disagree. Couric is the quintessential Morning Show host. Being the effervescent "Perky Katie Couric" is fine and she excels in that medium. But Couric was trying to bridge the gap to serious reporter, a job to which she is just very poorly suited. She excels at fashion, cat in the tree stuff, not hard hitting news. I would describe her as nails on a chalkboard the few times i tried to watch her.
