King's pawn to E4.

Considering this game could be a chess match you are probably not far off.

With JJ at QB, Malzahn has used him to pass the ball on the first play he saw nearly every time. I think he does the same thing here. Louisville's secondary is the weak link. The first play could be a huge chess match play. You would think that Louisville will be gunning for the run on the first play based off what Auburn likes to establish. However, Petrino may play the pass considering Malzahn would try to throw Louisville off. So I am saying a Zone read by the defense and wheel route to the running back or the inside receiver.

As a whole, I bet we pass more on first and second downs this game to relieve the 3rd down pass rush by Fields.

Funny going back and reading the older posts in this thread. Everyone here assumed the first hand-off would go to Robinson (myself included).

I predict a swing pass from Johnson to Roc Thomas will be our first play.

Considering Robinson is not starting, it would be hard for him to get the first play. I was going to say "Not a swing to Roc!" but someone beat me to it.

For God's sake, do not let it be a repeat of the first play the last time Roc started a game.

Eh, might be a good way to either 1) set the tone for a confident and capable Roc Thomas at RB1 for 2015 or 2) narrow down the RB race by a third.

Zone read JJ and Roc. To give the defenders a false sense of security that this offense hasn't changed. Even if it's just for a play lol

I was thinking the wheel route like they ran in the ADay game to Chandler Cox, although different players involved but same play.

Wishbone to Coleman's side, with Robinson, Barber, and Roc in, Chandler Cox seals the end, crushing blocks by Williams and Stevens, all three running backs sail into the endzone while escorting JJ.

Straight handoff off guard to Roc. He gains 3 1/2 yds. Second play Jet sweep with Louis. 1st down. Third, Zone read and JJ keeps it for 7. 4th Zone read and JJ keeps again for 8.

Now Louisville is pissed, and they have to account for JJ. Now everything opens up and we run, and throw basically at will. War Eagle!

The first 9 plays are always scripted for every game, depending on what CGM and CRL and CDC think is going to be the best way to begin breaking down the defense. Of course, they deviate from the script if they see something they can capitalize on.

I think most likely, the scripted play will be a running play, Roc off tackle or even JJ keeping on a fake to Roc, with Pettway leading the way. I think CGM will want to at least try to exert dominance on the line of scrimmage early, let JJ settle down a little before launching the air attack. Even though JJ is a good passing QB, CGM has always liked to establish the power running game first, then shred the defense long. Will he deviate from that? He might think that Louisville will be *expecting* Auburn to air it out early, given all the hype about JJ.

What plays does Gus usually run to set up the pump fake play like the one Chris Todd hit TZac on against La Tech in '09? In other words, this won't be our first play, but maybe it will be our 4th-5th?

OR Louisville could try to stop the run because they are already prepared for gus to think that they are expecting them to air out early but NO they are ready for the run....OR they will say yes indeed gus we are playing the pass....the plot thickens.....

Might I mention we started the UGA game with a swing pass to Roc as well. With that being said, I see one of two options.

A fake screen with a receiver releasing on a wheel route with of course Roc being the check down if the receiver is covered

Or

Simple inverted veer with Roc getting the designated handoff
