Obama in Jamaica?

I spent today in Jamaica. Ran into a lady who said Obama was coming in later in the day for a meeting tomorrow. Maybe with the Castros? She said she was part of the team doing advanced planning and security for the meeting and that 700 rooms had been rented. I haven't seen a paper or watched TV to know if this is true or not.

So which golf course is his meeting at?

Well if the meeting itself isn't at the golf course you can bet he'll get in a round or two while he's there.

It is perfectly fine to criticize any President for his policies or his official actions in office. In fact, it is essential to the health of our democracy that our leaders be freely critiqued and answerable to the people. But such criticism should be based in fact and dwell on his official duties, not his private hobbies.

Obama has been neither the most frequent golfer nor the most frequent vacation taker of modern presidents. Criticism of his leisure time activities or frequency smacks more of simple Obama hate than of actual reality:

I know this won't stop the criticism, but at least realize that such criticism is not based in fact!

Seen it all heard it all before. It is based in fact. This guy has played golf so much it's absurd. he doesn't have to take a full fledged vacation to go play golf. He'll make any excuse to go play golf. He goes and yuks it up on the golf course two seconds after a pitiful little appearance when James Foley was killed.

It's actually all hard to pin down. Bush spent a lot of time at his home in Texas. Is that vacation? He likely worked most of the time he was there but how can anyone really know? Is camp David vacation time or just work away from the WH? Hard to prove either. Obama does seem to take more lavish vacations than the average president, but it could be that it is just reported more now.

If we take it at face value, Obamas vacation days seem to be mostly real vacation days (don't really remember previous presidents vacation patterns to compare). If he has had 160 real vacation days in 6 years, that is roughly 27 days a year. That equals taking every other Sunday off. Not sure about the accuracy of the numbers or where they really come from, but I take most Sunday's off so I don't complain about someone else taking the equivalent of every other Sunday off. JMO

I don't think any US President gets any real vacation days. Their job is the equivalent of being on-call 24/7, but they do get the benefit of being able to leave and handle most of their business remotely. There is very little that can be handled at the White House that cannot be handled from Air Force One. What are the chances that the President is ever far from a cell phone or laptop anywhere he may go?

It's really sad that this your go to defense on all subjects. It doesn't bother me, it just makes me feel sorry for you. You have the emotional maturity of a five year old yet you still feel the need to enter into discussions in which you have zero input. At least you seem to prove one thing, ignorance is bliss.

I think you are confused. He is mimicking actual posts that reflect the maturity of a 5 year-old.

It's to illustrate such statements shouldn't and can't be taken seriously.

Understand?

Since apparently you either didn't read my links, didn't comprehend my links, or simply refuse to believe my links, let me address your points one by one:

1. "This guy has played golf so much it's absurd."

http://skeptoid.com/...tical-analysis/ :

"The website ObamaGolfCounter.com lists Obama as having played 176 rounds, while a Miami Herald article from June puts the total at 177. Just to be safe, we’ll round up to 180. All his games are closed to the public, and usually played with the same small circle of friends and confidants. He’s been in office for 67 months, giving him an average of 2.69 rounds per month." ---Less than 3 rounds per month? I'm not sure one can even call that a serious golfer. I know golfers who manage to get in 2-3 rounds each WEEK!

2. Does any President ever really get a day off? Examine this and other myths about Presidential vacations in my last link:

http://www.washingto...60ce_story.html

3. "He goes and yuks it up on the golf course two seconds after a pitiful little appearance when James Foley was killed."

http://thedailybante...g-major-events/ :

"If You’re Upset About Obama’s Golf Game, Here’s Reagan Goofing Off During Major Events"

I have yet to see any statistics that disagree with these facts. If anyone has actual numbers to show that Obama's golf and vacation days are excessively high (i.e., a statistically significant difference) compared to the Presidential average in my lifetime (60 years), I welcome them. Otherwise I will stick with the numbers in my links and continue to see the whole issue as another case of irrational "Obama-hate".
