And now a WP......allows runner to 2nd.....Rocky not off to a very good start.

OK...sharp grounder to Gray to get the first out but runner moves to 3rd

Another situation with baseball and softball teams playing on campus with the same starting time....hate that.

OK...Rocky got things under control, strikes out two batters and leaves the runner on 3rd.

Lately AU hitters have gotten off to a good start and scored runs early in the game....and then cooled off which is what happened last night when the Ga pitchers shut AU down for the last 5 innings of the game..

And Deese opens the game with a sharp single to left....has been doing a pretty good job since he was moved to the top of the order.

And Gray takes a walk....to bring up Grier with two men on base and no outs.

Grier misses a couple bunt attempts and then pops up to short center..

Daniel Robert at bat and Deese gets caught napping at second and picked off...so two outs with runner on first.....

But Robert shoots a long double to deepest part of the field and Gray scores from first....

AU goes up 1-0

And that does it for AU.....runner left on base but AU goes to the 2nd with a 1-0 lead.

McCord starts with another strike out for out 1

Gray makes a very nice sliding stop on a hard hit ground ball and throws out the runner for out #2.

McCord gets another strike out....a pretty quick inning for him.....

Murphy leads the inning off and is advanced to third but is stranded on 3rd when Gilliken drives the ball to the center field wall when the CF makes a nice catch for the 3rd out.

AU still up 1-0 after 2.

McCord gets a quick ground out for out #1

Another grounder to Nulph for out #2

And out number 3 is a strikeout....9 batters in a row retired by McCord

Deese leads off the bottom of the 3rd for AU hits high fly to center for out 1

Gray lines a single to right....keeps his 11 game hitting streak alive...

Grier at bat....and Gray picked off....2nd base runner caught leaning.....first one probably cost us a run when Robert immediately hit a double...

And a bouncer to short and the inning is over.

AU leading 1-0

Only one base runner for the dawgs thus far

And McCord gives up his first hit with 2 outs in the top of the 4th.....single to right

McCord walks the next batter so two runners on with 2 outs...

Game has slowed down....RM having problems finding the plate.....and McCord gives up a run scoring single on an 0-2 count....pitch was up and very hittable...

Game now tied at 1-1-

And out #3 on liner to left to get out of trouble with 2 runners on.

AU starts with a baserunner and Haecker comes to bat ...and quickly flies out to left for the first out.

DH Murphy at bat....fouls a couple off and works the count to get a base on balls.....two runners on and one out

Craft batting.....

Middle of the count on Craft and Ga coach comes out to talk with pitcher....back to play and Craft works count to 3-2 before walking to load the bases for Nulph

Nulph with one out and bases loaded...works count to 3-2 again and then strikes out on a slow pitch where he was well out in front of it.

Gilliken is out last chance this inning to put some runs on the board.

Gilliken drives it to the right field wall at 361 to clear the bases and give AU a 4-1 lead . Bit of a hanging curve and well hit.

Deese at bat with Gilliken on 3rd....chance to put one more on the board but grounds to 2b to end the inning..

OK big inning for AU to give McCord some breathing room.

Top of 5th.....Gilliken's night is over...Burgreen goes to left field

Infield hit....great play by Gray to keep the ball on the dirt but could not get a throw off in time. Nice effort.

Base hit moves runner to second....McCord getting in some trouble....struggled a bit last inning and UGA ha a chance to get back in the game.

Great play by Deese.....bunt to advance runners and almost beat it out....that same sneaky guy who got a couple of bunt hits last night.

Dawgs have runners on 2nd and 3rd with one out.

Ball hit right back to McCord who managed to keep the runner on 3rd and almost tossed the ball over Robert.'s head a first....good think Deese was not playing first tonight or ball would have been in the dug out.

So now it's 2 outs with 2 runners in scoring position to see if AU can get out of the jam.

Batter fouls off several 2 strike pitches and then strikes him out on the 10th pitch of the at bat.....slider on the outside black....good pitch.

AU still up 4-1

UGa brings in a new pitcher to face Gray in bottom of the 5th

Gray bounces one hopper to 3B and is thrown out

Grier out quickly on an infield grounder..

Daniel Robert up and first baseman make a tremendous stop along the line behind the bag and while laying on the ground tosses to the pitcher covering for the out....another night of really nice defensive plays by both teams.

So off to the top of the 6 th with a 4-1 lead

McCord strikes out the first batter.....7 for the night

Did a nice job getting out of trouble last inning and looking better now.

Second batter grounds out quickly for out #2.

And another infield single....Gray got his hands on it at the edge of the outfield and could not make a play.

And another single up the middle.....so two outs and two men on base.
