I'm gonna say we average 400 passing yards a game and 250 rushing.

Easily. I'd say your numbers are conservative, and I can appreciate that. High end, I'd say we average 1000 yards total. 600 passing, 400 rushing.

Oh and we'll stop on the opponents 43 yard line every game, and kick a 60 yarder no matter the down, to honor Lutz, and just to show we can.

500 ypg passing average and unpacking that a bit, passes to RBs will be a huge % of that # this year. An unspoken key to this season will be JJ developing an amazing play action fake like Nick had in 2013, we'll need that against LSU, UGA and UAT. Rushing stats will be similar to last year. IMHO.

We won't pass for 500 ypg, but I agree with the rest. I look for Pettway to have 500+ receiving yards on the season.

I'm having trouble determining who's being serious in this thread. Then again, without coffee I don't see actual colors until 10:00 am, so this is no surprise.

But, seriously, I think we'll average less than 250 yards rushing a game; I think 230 would be a nice goal. And, I think we'll average over 250 yards passing. So, I'll say 230 rushing, 280 passing. I expect multiple receivers to have significant involvement, including my boy Darius Slayton, whos going to have a big freshman debut.

I love the Optimism but the reality is that the O-Line that we will be putting out there is unproven. We have two returning starters from last year with others who have started before in some games and one who is coming back from a back injury. Talented YES but playing as a Unit is different. I have hope based on potential but also some trepidation.

220 rushing and 280 passing

This is more along the lines of what I was thinking. With the occasional outlier of a huge offensive game.

Which game do you guys foresee will be the one, or two, that we need the defense and/or special teams to pull it out for us? Usually with HUNH teams there is usually one game where the O is badly out of sync and either the D or ST needs to bail the O out.

i think we rush a little better.

This, just don't see that low of a rushing average.

Some numbers that might help shape opinions:

255 ypg on the ground in 2014

328 in 2013

187 in 2011

285 in 2010

212 in 2009

253 ypg for all of Gus's offenses at Auburn. 251 if you toss out the outliers.

Baylor led the nation with 581 total ypg last year. Marshall was the only other team at 550 or better. Mississippi State had the best in the SEC at 513.

Auburn had 55 offensive touchdowns last year. Of the top 20 teams in the nation in terms of total offense, only 3 of them had fewer. Mississippi State had 60. Baylor had 81. Oregon had 86.

We had 49 in 2009, 72 in 2010 and 68 in 2013*.

*2010 and 2013 are inflated because of an extra game, which just happened to be ridiculous numbers in the SECCG both times, but still...

Great stats, my opinion was at least 250 rushing, but mainly bc I think JJ will run more than people expect

Seems reasonable.

I failed to add that we passed for 214 ypg in 2010 with Cam and 219 in 2009 with Chris Todd. Those years seemed most relevant to what we might expect this year, but really I don't think we have any way of knowing what to expect.

Avg 600 yards of offense, 350 passing, 250 rushing.

That's not the least bit realistic.

Considering the source....it's on point.
