cptau 140
Auburn will be playing UK at UK's newly renovated stadium this fall. The stadium is undergoing a major update, but will actually have slightly fewer seats. Unfortunately the SEC has lost another grass playing field to artificial turf at UK. http://www.thenewcws...d-after-images/ Through a $120-million reinvention, Commonwealth Stadium will be transformed into a state-of-the-art facility in time for the start of the 2015 season. As the Kentucky football program enters a new era, the Big Blue Nation will enjoy an intimate game-day atmosphere to match. The experience will begin outside the stadium, as the longtime home of the Wildcats will undergo a dramatic external facelift. The new Commonwealth Stadium will take on a modern look, but one that remains uniquely Kentucky. Inside, the capacity of Commonwealth will be slightly reduced over the course of the two-year project, but the value of all remaining seats will be increased, from the top of the upper deck to front-row seats at midfield. Concourses will revamped and widened throughout the stadium with improved concessions, restrooms and security. Players and coaches will reap the benefits of the new Commonwealth Stadium as well, as new home-team facilities will be built, while a new multi-purpose recruiting room will play host to future Wildcats on their on-campus visits. Students — the heartbeat of the Commonwealth crowd — will surround the new recruiting room in new East end zone seating. The more traditional student section set up will allow for more lower-level student seats, adding to UK’s home-field advantage. Enhanced premium seating options will allow fans to enjoy Kentucky football in style. More than 20 new private suites and 2,000 new club seats will be added during the renovation, which will help allow UK Athletics to fund the project entirely on its own and without any state or university funds. 1973 First Year of Use 1999 Stadium Renovated 2015 Current Renovations

We should pawn off that new video board, sell the supports for scrap and implode the stadium.
PowerOfDixieland 3,091
I was Seems like everyone but Auburn renovates their stadiums. I was inside Neyland last week. Main entrance was modernized. Looks pretty from a distance, but don't look too closely...that is one old and crappy stadium. Commonwealth update to the facade looks like something out of the 70's. Is that white block? JHS, just like our uniforms, is pretty timeless and classic.
The Plainsman 948
That is a pretty stadium. If they did one up the scoreboards AU style is would pretty dang sweet for UK.
