The proof as they say, will be in the pudding.

....."Corporations can only commit crimes through flesh-and-blood people," Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates, the author of the memo, told the Times. "It's only fair that the people who are responsible for committing those crimes be held accountable. The public needs to have confidence that there is one system of justice and it applies equally regardless of whether that crime occurs on a street corner or in a boardroom."....

My first thought after seeing this last night was whether there was a connection to this announcement with the resignation of Jeff Smisek at United Airlines. I thought the timing of it was was too coincidental.

why make a speech to say you are going to do your job?? If you have the proof to charge a criminal then freaking charge them. Is she saying the last AG didn't do his job so she will? Will this apply to all criminals (even in the government)? Sounds like a speech to appease supporters. It is election time.

Apparently it acknowledges this is a change in strategy which is a pretty big admission if you ask me. This has been one of my biggest complaints about Obama and apparently I wasn't alone. They claim the change is due to the negative feedback from taking this approach from the beginning.

I don't see any political advantage to it. There's no guarantee that the next POTUS will maintain it.

I doubt it. His case is a different issue than the banking scandals but presumably the same policy will apply to him.

Sounds good at first look but the devil is always in the details. Need to see more before making a full judgement.

We need to see some action in the form of criminal indictments. My question is how long will it take.

Different issue, yes, but still white collar crime. I don't have any hope left that there will be prosecutions over the financial crisis.

This is the Obama/Holder/Lynch Admin giving lip service to actually doing anything.

NOTHING is going to be done about this other than the Dems will threaten action, run to Wall Street, take home a big check and DO NOTHING.

Folks, after 2008-2009 if you cant see that there is absolutely nothing that the folks in DC wont coverup and turn a blind eye to all this, THEN YOU ARE TOO STOOPID FOR WORDS.

Cenk Uygur: Obama was lying about Wall Street not doing illegal things, while taking cash from Wall Street.

Damon criticizes Obama for doing nothing about Wall Street Fraud.

The Statute of Limitations has run out on all but the extreme end of the crimes.

That's why I say it isn't Republicans vs Democrats. It's Washington vs the people

Sure, but as you said there are still some smaller crimes they could go after that are related, but given the rotating door between the justice department and law firms that represent Wall Street, I have no hope that anything will ever come of it.
