Positives Going Forward

Sure this was a game we could have easily lost. Despite the 3 turnovers and poor offensive production, we won the game with a late comeback.

1) Peyton Barber is the man and deserves the starting nod from here on out.

2) Despite the yards, the defense held them to 20 points. Came up big when we needed it most.

3) Ricardo Louis made some great plays receiving.

4) Melvin Ray continues to show he is a clutch guy making big receptions when he is called on.

5) Special teams helped us out big time today.

6) we are 2-0, ugly 2-0, but it helps going forward.

Hopefully we get our players back for LSU.

I would also say secondary is getting better. And we ended the game playing well on offense. Even Jeremy

This..even alittle positive for JJ is good

#18 on defense will be a stud.

JJ needs a RB check down. He is making mistakes, but I think the passing concepts arent helping. He needs to have more screens and quick passes on early downs.

I mean it's his own doing but to be able to throw that td pass on 3rd at that moment??? Can you imagine the pressure? Takes some big you know what to make that throw and he wasn't wide open, he had to throw him open. It's actually the only thing that still gives me hope with him. He's still not shell shocked, at least not yet

it seems transition this offense over to a style that fits a non-duel threat qb wasn't as smooth as hoped. Eventually it'll get figured out but man are there gonna be some losses along the way.

his throwing motion looks very awkward. I only saw the last half of fourth qtr but he looks off from last year. No idea why.

I agree concerning the DBs, I thought they actually played pretty well considering the youth and some of the situations.

You have to give their QB ane WRs props, they made some great catches and he put several passes right where he had to.

I thought Davis did better getting his head around.

1) Barber runs 100% every play. Couldn't be happier for him.

2) Rudy Ford played fantastic and provided stability to a secondary made up mostly of freshman.

3) AU managed to win a game we had no business winning. Pitiful performance but better than a loss.

4) Freshmen in secondary learning on the fly and giving it all they've got.

That's about all the positives I can come up with

yeah we lost 5 last year with marshall and we had a worse defense. now we have a better defense and a worse qb. the answer to all of the problems is run barber and throw short pass plays with johnson he is good at that

Yeah he played big in the moment we needed him most. My only request is that if we don't plan on running the QB, I would like more jet sweep motion to stretch the defense laterally.

I don't think it's a stretch to say that that TD was literally, the most important moment of JJ's career so far. That was an incredible pressure situation. I'm sure every player on that bench knew the ramifications going forward had they lost that game and I'm sure that weighed heavily on jj's mind. So if there was a positive to be taken from this game - and it was a huge positive - its that when it really has mattered the most, JJ came through. Big time.

He's got a gunslinger mentality. Definitely an asset when the game is on the line, that's for sure. Forcing throws when they're just not there is something only learned through game experience. I don't remember who said it but I've always like this quote: "Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement."

This is not a positive. For the second straight week, Auburn played a bad team and for the second straight week, they relied on a bad team missing fg's to win.

He does a poor job of reading the defenses. In many cases, he doesn't even see the defensive backs until it's too late.

Also for a second straight week Auburns defense forced FG Attempts in the redzone and didn't allow TDs. That is huge and is a vast improvement. One step at a time. Don't be that guy.
