I believe he can run and that we will see it this weekend. Also, in the video, when he passes he locks on one receiver BUT they are all quick passes where only his guy can get it. I hope we see these type of passes this weekend.

I do believe he is not allowed to run and keep offense vanilla against last two teams albeit it almost came to bite us. Playbook will open this weekend and it will be all war against LSU.

I want Gus's pay docked if we had the playbook closed down 7 to Jacksonville State. That's a seriously ludicrous notion

We can see in RiR's video JJ is no slouch runner. He can run. I think coaches want SEC opponents to think that he is a passer only. I expect playbook to be very different from what we have seen for the last two weeks.

doubtful, that playbook would have opened in the fourth qtr last two games

Nice video, maybe the dude can run, He looked like an impressive runner in high school. He has to get the opposing defense to respect his running ability, Should we put his old recruitment videos on the big screen? :dunno: :-\ He is gonna have to do the Missouri deal, show me.

I've heard this somewhere before...

This particular game film shows JJ getting in some good runs.

Jeremy Johnson can run.

He is fast.

He can run in a straight line against high school students he towers over.

He can run for the sidelines against high school students he towers over.

Up to this point at AU, he hasn't been particularly 'mobile'.

We may see him run more and probably should see him run more this Saturday to give the offense more opportunities to break something loose. I'd like to see him try the run every single time he can't find an open receiver but has an opening to make a yard or two. Just that one change alone could help cut down the number or severity of 3rd and long situations by 25%.

Two issues as noted: All that good running was against HS sized defenders.....and apparently coaches don't want him to run since he turned down a few good opportunities to run when they were available.

If the coaches don't want him to run for fear of injury, that's their call....but it does seem that they are putting some handcuffs on the offense.

You sir, are correct.

I'm absolutely convinced Gus has not called the read option more than once or twice, if that, for fear of getting him hurt. When the QB in this offense is a running threat the "downhill running game" works. Right now he isn't and it doesn't. JSU was cutting blockers at the line because they did not fear the outside run threat. And we never adjusted.

Have y'all been watching the same games I have? Jeremy has tried to run, many times on scrambles. He's either simply not fast enough or too bulky to actually do anything with it. I think he's kept the handoff like twice out of 20 read options/jet sweeps. Jeremy only got about two yards both times. I don't care what they did in hoghschool. As of right now Jeremy is a mediocre runner at best.

The thing that sticks out to me and lll I can see in the video, despite some nice runs, is how he stares down his target...it does really look like he has determined pre-snap where he is going to go with the football and goes there no matter what. That obviously worked for him at the HS level but as we have seen in the last 2 games it will not work at even an FCS level let alone the FBS level. I still think Johnson can be a good QB and I really liked the focus and determination he showed on the last drive in regulation and in OT. He came to the bench and looked serious after scoring the tying TD instead of smiling after throwing a INT.

I'm just saying I'll take the 2 yards on the keeper over an INT. That's where I'm at. It's a cold dark place...

ain't that the truth . . . holding back for an FCS foe keeps the real competition in check. right.

So our coaches are scared? Damn!

I thought we were going to see that video on Saturday against what i thought was another high-school team... Give them credit their WR's made plays, and they did not miss opportunities to pick JJ off. I think Gus saw things in practice that lead him to believe JJ would be able to make what looks like simple reads/progressions and now he knows that he needs to tone it down.

I was at this game where film was shot. If I recall correctly, the 2 Auburn high linebackers were Reuben Foster, and Rashaud Evans Both 5 stars that play in SEC now). Also, 3 of their defensive linemen are playing now. Finley went to bama and transferred to Jax st. and played 1 defensive end against us this past weekend. And there were 2 twin d-lineman that are now also at Jax St. I remember on one play that is not on this video, JJ ran over Reuben Foster to get a first down on a third and 4 run. So, despite it being against high school players, most of those Auburn high players are playing on Saturdays somewhere now as well. He definitely can run. Not a burner like marshall but definitely fast and physical enough to be effective.

Since he has been at AU, I've seen no indication that he actually wants to run the football. Maybe by design but if a QB is confident in their running ability, they're going to take off with it from time to time regardless.

If you notice, on one run he ran past, on another he outran, and on another he broke the tackle of none other than Reuben Foster. He was in the elite of High School Linebackers.
