Thank you Coach and the whole Auburn team.

Elijah is the son of a friend of mine. Elijah has been battling Epitheliod Sarcoma since May 2014.The disease in his right lung is consuming more than half of it. It has also grown outside of the lung and into the chest wall. Doctors have told them they have no more treatment options and that due to the rapid rate of growth, the doctors only anticipate weeks.

Please pray for this family and remember them this weekend as Auburn takes on MSU.

Been a parent for 10 months now. Never used to believe folks when they said this kind of thing kinda sorta actually breaks their hearts.

Sending love to Elijah and his family. WDE, my man. You roll whatever you want to.

My 6 year old son, Blake is a cancer survivor (4 years in remission) and Auburn has been nothing short of amazing, showing hospitality to kids struggling with illness. Gene Chizik used to offer tickets in his suite to some of the "cancer families" with sick children. Gus has also done a ton of stuff for families going through the cancer fight with their children. Last year, at the last practice before A day, he invited about 30 families, mine included, to watch practice and do meet and greet with coaches and team afterward. He and Kristy stayed around for probably 2 hours after practice talking to the kids and taking pictures. The players were just as generous with their time. Just wanted to share..

Good stuff. I could only hope that if given their ability to positively impact others, I'd do the same.

Thanks for the thread. This is something actually important. It's not all about wins and loses, but more so about what type of men they are raising. Thank you Gus for being so much more than just a football coach. Prayers for the family and the child. I thank God every day that my daughter is healthy and can't even begin to imagine the heartbreak going on in these situations. Lord please look after this family and all others like it.

Yep! Unfortunately I've seen too many of these kind of cases in my life......but it still hurts the soul.

Prayers for Elijah

11 hrs ·

At 10:52 p.m., my baby went to be with Jesus. Our lives will never be the same; but because of him our lives were forever changed.

I am heartbroken today to report that Elijah lost his battle with this awful disease last night. As many of you may have seen on social media, this is the boy that Cam showed up for the early Halloween party and brought the ice cream truck and hung out with everyone. Elijah's mom is a friend of mine.

Please keep this family in your prayers. While we know he is no longer suffering, there are many here on Earth affected by this guy that will miss him dearly.

War Eagle, Elijah!

So sorry to hear about this. I can't imagine the pain for the family.

Thanks to Cam, Coach Gus, and Auburn for doing what they could for Elijah and family. I'm sure it meant a lot to them.
