dB's finding the football

Bama DB's, when in man, play a lot of catch man. They wait on the WR and collision them forcing them to alter their routes. The collision reroutes and slows down the WR. Revis plays this technique as well.

I've often wondered why we don't do this more, especially with teams who are picking us apart with a quick pitch and catch game.

Imo we haven't had the type of athletes at corner and safety at the same time. Also at least for bammer young guys coming in weren't able to play outside corner off the bat. Seems like at least a year learning curve to be decent at it. Lastly neither are successful without a consistent threat of a pass rush. We try to do that the last two or three years it wouldn't work at all

that's one of the biggest issues, Cole. A consistent and heavy pass rush makes every coverage look better. If we were to play any type of on the ball man, we would be shredded. Its best to let the play develop in front of you and break on the ball when you have little to no pass rush.
