there are some bright spots and areas where we stink and need to improve. Redzone is most glaring.

Could definitely see a difference with Lawson. Not blocking on that final play really bugs me even though we had other opportunities to take the lead out tie. Offensive line is so inconsistent

Yada yada no doubt bla bla no doubt yada yada

If this were an attempt at humor, it might elicit a chuckle. However, your posts have been extremely negative; so I suspect you just meant it sarcastically.

Gus was right -- the lack of success on third down was a huge factor in the game.

My only criticism of Gus's performance in the press conference -- and it's a big one -- is that he didn't take enough responsibility for the team's lack of execution. So, he's right that the team didn't execute the 4th down conversion, even though the coaches liked the matchup and had a plan to be aggressive going into the game. But it's not good coaching to blame the players for not executing in the postgame presser. He should have said that it was his call, and his fault that we didn't get the first down. Same for third downs. Same for not being able to run the ball.

Gus needs to take a lesson in leadership from Carl Lawson. Carl apologized for not being able to be the difference, for not winning the game for us. It's not his fault. But he took all the responsibility on himself. That's not even his job. It is, however, the head coache's job.

They should let Carl do all the talking for the team. He is one fine Person in addition to being an elite FB player. We are truly blessed to have a person like Carl to represent AU. WDE

I'm pretty sure our coach is delusional.

Gus takes coach speak to another level. He sounds like a coach from a team who is supposed to be badly overmatched by their opponent (FCS school tackling an FBS school) but wants respect for playing competitive. Has he forgotten that he isn't coaching Ark St. anymore? Auburn has higher expectations and a much better recruiting class. This program has expectations that doesn't include SEC door mat. This comment is beyond embarrassing.

How is he wrong, we were one play short from being Miss State, and play or two from beating Arky, and a couple plays from beating Ole Miss. We're just short of being a legitimate 7-1.

They're also four or five plays away from being 1-7.

Being a play or two short from beating Arkansas or Miss State or ole miss does not mean you can play with TCU, Bama, Clemson, Ohio State, etc. And to suggest that everybody thinks we can hang with the best of them is absurd. I don't even think we will be able to hang with Texas A&M next week and I am a fan.

It is tough to be consistent with the offense when you're using so many different guys taking the snaps….it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that Shawn is going to throw…the others are going to run…it seems we've gotten away from what got us there…we're doing too many gadget instead of being the running team we're suppose to be; if we can't run it, then lets find some people (lineman and backs) that can get it done…too many BINGO number plays….

Yall please look at the last play of the third quarter. It was first down, we were driving in the red zone and the cornerback didn't even pretend that he was going to cover Ricardo. He sold out on the run either because of tendencies or we were blatantly giving it away.

I saw that too. The sad thing is we did a hard snap and saw the CB intentions and still stuck with it....

Oh, how I love all the people that are so good at picking plays AFTER they are played....

Not everyone, just those that keep calling for Gus's job - it's even harder to listen to than bama fans...

Now remember....it's just a football forum (like I was told). No reason to be calling for the coaches job. Just a forum now.

First off, the players have to execute the plays. Plain and simple.

Secondly, all coaches report to the athletic department to put in the applications. Being you could've called a better game.

You guys are crazy if you think there's a wide berth between Ole Miss and elite. Either Ole Miss or LSU is going to win the SEC. They no showed two weeks, but their focused game is better than anyone else in this conference.

If you can play with that team, you can play with anyone. That was the best team we'll see the rest of the year.

Very debatable. bama probably played their worst game of the year against ole miss. 5 to's. If the turds beat lsu, and I hope they don't,they will deservedly be ranked much higher than OM was when we played, and I will not feel as good about our chances against them as I did against OM.
