Finebaum Attacks...

In case you missed it, Finebaum is apparently ready to smear :au: with any crap he gain find, twist, or make up.

Why? He is not getting the Response from :au: on the 13-0 Season. As in, he is not getting one interview about it. Not one. The biggest sports story in the state this year and Finebaum cant get even one interview?

CTT is the hottest thing in Alabama sports now and has talked with numerous sports media outlets. He hasnt said "BOO" to Finebaum. Why? Well maybe because Finebaum is just so peckerless he cant grow hair on his head....Never had that problem myself. ;)

To counter-act the wave of silence, Finebaum has adopted the :poke: Strategy. This is where he pokes :au: in the eye until they respond.

I say the best way to piss Finebaum off is to simply shut up. The secret to Finebaum is "The controversy." The worst thing you can do for him is to ignore him!!!!

He has picked on Carnell for something he said when he was 17. Any grown man running down a 17 year old kid, (btw, he has already apologized for it, but ran it again this week) is just sick! I seriously lost a lot of respect for him this week.

on the other hand, it is very funny watching the bald peckerless guy twist in the wind as the entire AU Nation turns its back on him.

I say screw him.

The crap will continue for a while but then, as always, he will stop slashing Carnell, Chette, Tommy, and the entire AU Family....Someday. And make nice with us, he has to do it. Afterall, not even the real Bammerboobs can talk about how awesome their 6-6 team is for another 8 months.

I have thought about the silence of AU callers to the Finebaum show as well. My thought was that it was a Presidential election year and that kept people's attention for much of the year. Also I think most AU fans don't feel that on a personal level, a great football season somehow makes them better people. This season was great fun and very enjoyable, but I personally didn't feel any great need or desire to call and join in with the Finebaum Red Elephant Club. Also it was enjoyable to sit back and enjoy the Bammers going ballistic over Shula's inability to lead them to the promised land. Face it, a 6 - 6 record for Bama was enjoyable, only for the consternation and pain it caused the Bammers.

Add in 13 - 0 & an SEC CHAMPIONSHIP, our silence hurt them worse than if there had been hundreds of AU callers. :big::big::big:

Uh, let's not equate the two...actually, male pattern baldness is often correlated with high levels of testosterone. :D

Indifference is the thing he CANNOT abide.

Ignoring him is the worst possible thing he could have happen to him.

He drools with delight when people get pi**ed and call in with vitriol.

Silence is death to an inflamer.

I've been ignoring him for years. The only Finebaum 'show' I ever listened to was a recording of one where he talked to Phyllis and the High School coach at Luverne. That one is priceless.

And yet here are seven posts (well, eight, counting mine, minus the occasional comment from us baldies defending our virility :D ) "ignoring" Finebaum!

He's just a entertainer, with occasionally some legitimate journalistic coverage. At worst, he's morbidly entertaining in the same sense as those tabloids whose covers I can't help reading in line at the supermarket. At best, he occasionally does scoop others with new information. Since both Bama and Auburn fans seem to hate him with equal ferver, I 'd say that speaks to his impartiality.

Enjoy him when he's entertaining and don't lose any sleep over him when he's not.

So...anyone want to "ignore" him for a ninth post?

I think AU fans are getting to endure the crap that Finebaum has done to bama for so long. His MO is really what you hear now. When it generates calls and interest because he's "defending" AU or UA...thats what he does...but if its sexy ratings wise to BLAST either school...or both...thats what he does.

He has NO stance either way when it comes to sports IMO...his stance is influenced by what gives him the best ratings. David, Im with you...this guy sucks...and I dont even listen anymore. I can't even listen to the great guests he has because I know he and that loser Vickers will be talking to them.

better yet who cares about him, and BG Auburn fans have endured alot of crap through the years. I would say that the crap endured by both sides has been pretty equal. Just depends on the year and what his mood is.

Why is this even a concern? I listen to Finebaum almost every day. He gives it equally to both sides. He gives respect when it is due. When he goes overboard, he apologizes. He just does whatever it takes to get people to listen.

Also, I dont have a problem with there not being any AU callers. Think about it: Why do people call in a radio talk show? About 1% of callers actually contribute something worthwhile to the program. The others are just running their mouths or kissing the host's ass. I'm glad the AU Nation has so few callers on talk radio programs. It means we are actually doing meaningful WORK at our JOBS. If you have the time to call a sports radio show in the mid-afternoon more than once every couple of weeks, you either have no life or way too much time on your hands. Let the Bammers own the radiowaves. All they talk about is Auburn anyway. WDE!

Exactamundo. I don't get all the constant calls for AU people to ignore Finebaums show. It's a radio talk show for Pete's sake -- listen to it or change stations. I'm not a big fan of Howard Stern but you won't see me leading the charge to get him off the air (free country & stuff.) When an AU man is on there being interviewed you can bet I'll be listening. If you already know Finebaum says things on the air to incite & stir the pot, then why do you let him get to you? Roll with the punches.

In closing, I'll say this in response to all the Finebaum bashers (in my best Phyliss of Mulga patois:) "LEAVE 'EM THE HEY-YULL UH-LONE, PAY-PULL!" WDE :D

There's quite a bit of difference between listening to him, posting about him and calling his show in a rage.

I don't happen to listen to him. He is entitled to do what he wants, and he's good at stirring up the class of people who do listen to him.

But I'll say it again: The most difficult thing for him to have happen to him is to have people ignore him. He dearly loves--thrives on--people calling in spewing and gasping for air over some calculated outrage he's uttered. If he DOES make you mad, for Pete's sake, don't call him.

I think it was last Thursday that he quipped, "The AUNation hates me."  Then chuckled.

We dont hate him.

We see through him.

We ignore him.

We kind of pity him.

He does have a valid media presence, but we dont have to listen to him at all.

Guest Tigrinum Major

Finebaum is a ratings who...monger who is constantly stirring up the stink no matter which side it is on. Vickers is an I don't know what. He makes me miss the days of Bob Lochamy...
