What are the folks' expectations regarding the bowl game?

Do we blow them out, win a close one or do we get blown out or lose a close one? I have no real clue, but I think, should we win, it will be close. I also don't think the outcome of this game matters much in terms of Gus' future as HC at AU. I think it will be about 6-7 games into next season before Gus' future can be legitimately discussed

I'm not really sure what to expect. This game seems to be flying under the radar, even amongst the AU fanbase. Zero excitement level (was to be expected) and not much info. Show up and play and see what happens I guess.

I expect the players will be pumped, because it's their last impression-making chance of a questionable season to prove that they are continuing to improve. There's enough change in the air to add fresh-start anticipation for us all. And because I believe they are pumped, I choose to be. Too many get to go to bowls, but still, not everyone does. The location of ours is a good part of the malaise...true? Yet for some fans, this may be their only affordable opportunity to go to a bowl. Tigers pull a victory, close the season with more W than L, and in my best hopes, whatever needs fixing (or patience) is exposed and rectified.

I just want a W. How it happens , or looks, is irrelevant to me right now. I also hope to get in and out of there safely, with the same vehicle, in the same condition as it will be when we get there.

gonna' get the hell beat out of us....i would prefer that it was a basketball game....i have seen all of this football team that i can stand, but i guess i can manage to watch one more, since this 55 straight seasons that i have not missed a single one....keep the streak going, i guess...lynch is going to light our ass up

Well I hope they got a lot out of the extra practices. Especially the younger guys. I believe the team probably feels like the fans. They want to win but not very excited about the game or location. Not sure if we win but makes no diff which QB. If we win we would have won with either and if we lose we would have lost with either.

We don't have a defense and we don't have a QB. Our coaching staff is in disarray and team morale is at an all time low. Additionally, Birmingham is about as bad as it could get for a bowl location. Memphis wins easily, 45-17.

Team morale is at an all time low? Can you point me in the direction of any proof of that?

That is not true.

Same story as the rest of the year...Defense plays well enough to win...Offense, with 3 extra weeks of practice shows no improvement, we inexplicably pass when we should run...we get no rhythm in the running game because we won't stick with anyone...our QB's can't hit receivers who wouldn't catch the ball anyway...we fail to pass protect....we keep 2 of our 3 best offensive players off the field all the time...basically, we can't stick our finger up our ass with both hands and we lose a game we should win....we still have no DC....we are playing in friggin Birmingham for the holidays...it rains...it's cold....no one shows up at the stadium...Bama meanwhile plays for another championship.
