No justice for Tamir Rice, the gat-toting 12 year old thug who in a total of two seconds ignored clear commands from officers to drop a weapon he wasn't holding and then pointed said weapon at them... Justice in America.

Once again not surprising. Closely moving towards justifying killing of minorities. Unless you have video of them at the exact time when the policemen do whatever harm they choose to do and you have a clean record and didn't make any mistakes ever in life...Then they might get suspended.....with pay.....Or they might really get the book thrown at them and get a year or two. I also expect Ferguson to get brought up for no apparent reason in this thread

congratulations, you were right.

And yet, he wasn't.

Commit a crime w/ a toy gun, passing it off as real, guess what ? You're going to be tried as if it was a real gun.

Way to take a stand lol

So says all the people who aren't in law enforcement

So lets break this down...

Ohio is an open carry state and the police thought Tamir was an adult. Why again was he gunned down?

Gee, I don't know. Maybe because of the reports there was a person pointing a gun at people?

Raptor, do you seriously not see a problem with this? I usually give LE respect, benefit of doubt when the circumstances are questionable. Yes, the arrest record and toxicology of the supposed victims matter to me, I take plenty of heat for that here. I saw the video, read the available facts and can find zero justification for this shooting. Starting with the driver it was stupidity, the hiring of the shooter, stupidity. I saw the kid being a kid, do nothing wrong. No time to resist, no chance to surrender. The difference from my view is I dont automatically assign racism as a cause or motive. I don't deny it either. This can't happen with no consequences. The cop cannot continue to wear a badge.

Many things about this case baffle me, but I don't have all the facts either. I agree the driver was clueless and the shooter should have never been hired. The later has no place in law enforcement IMHO. I don't agree the child did no wrong. According to video, the child reached in his waste band to pull the gun. Was he pulling it on the officers? Could they know with certainty that he wasn't? According to the prosecutor, the officer thought his life was in danger and thus probable cause. It seems that alone led to the verdict. I don't necessarily agree, but that is what was reported. Now there are more troubling things that happened after the shooting and I hope they come to light. Yes, there are those trying to assign racism, but it appears to me that it was a set of unfortunate circumstances that led to this tragedy. May God be with this child's family and provide them comfort.

i don't think he was pulling a air soft gun "on the officers". They could have absolutely known if they had taken the time to find out. Part of the job is risk. If you drive up on a potential suspect like that you multiply any risk. They didn't have enough information to assume there was a serious threat. No way can I defend these cops. I might defend their intentions or motives if I knew them or heard them speak on it. Their actions were totally wrong and needlessly deadly. I get agrivated when people put blame on the kid. He was completely innocent.

Look- either the cops have dangerous jobs with an inherent risk factor, and as such deserve respect and reverance from everyone they encounter, OR we grant them free reign to unleash hell on whoever they please the second they encounter a "perceived" threat, and we're all free to consider such people to be the inhumane sociopaths that their behavior exemplifies. To hell with this having their cake and eating it, too. It is breeding hatred and resentment and making everyone less safe, the police more than anyone.

Gee, I don't know. Maybe because of the reports there was a BLACK person pointing a gun at people?

FIFY

So the fact that the 9-1-1 dispatch omitted the gun MAY be not be a real gun, or the suspect a minor, as mentioned by the caller to 9-1-1, doesn't play into the confusion ? You think that, maybe had the officer had that info, things would have played out the same way ?

Every one of the recent cases are different. In some Like Ferguson I totally understand why the Officer used his gun. In others like the Large gentleman in New York who was choked to death over selling cigarettes I don't believe the Police followed procedure while the victims weight probably had as much to do with his dying as the choke hold the lack of action after he was down was criminal and the officers should at a minimum have lost their jobs.

This incident has many aspects that make me believe the officers were guilty of something in their testimony they said they repeatedly warned the kid to drop the weapon. Their windows of their car was closed and they shot within 2 seconds of getting out of the car. There was no time for repeated warnings. The officers lied. Also dispatcher should have been terminated for not providing information that it might be a minor and might be a toy gun.

Officers have a tough job and deserve the benefit of the doubt within reason but they also need to be held accountable for their actions when they were in the wrong.

So, blacks should be treated differently than anyone else ? Is that what you're saying ? That if a cop gets a report that a black person is waving around a gun, just let it go, and head off to the doughnut shop instead ?

And btw, you didn't FIX it for me. You ADDED your own twisted spin on MY words, and made them your own.
