In search off Golden Retriever pup

Recommended Posts

I am in search of a female full blooded Golden Retriever puppy for my 4 year old daughter to grow up with. All I seem to be able to find online are either (1) outrageously priced at $1000, (2) Sold out of females within the first hour of listing or last and most commonly (3) scam artists wanting to "ship" a dog from across the country after upfront payment (yeah right).

Anybody know of any golden retriever litters out there? I am in the Bham area and willing to drive a few hours if necessary

i may be rehoming a golden/collie mix. 8 months old. We fostered him 2 months. Sweet boy just think i want to be free of the destructive habits. I hate keeping him crated all the time but leave him unattended and you have a mess and valuable loss.

Understand for sure. We had a west highland terrier (little white dog on all the food bags). Leave him alone in the house (very aware of his potty training) and he would pee on everything. Lock him in a bathroom for 30 minutes (to make the pee easier to clean when you get back) and he'd scratch the door frame to shreds. Didn't help that he was allergic to our yard so he couldn't spend much time outside either. Had to rehome him also. My wife is still sad about it 2 years later.

I'm afraid you're issue is collie related. They require constant attention and have extremely high energy levels. If you don't have time to get them plenty of exercise every day, they are notorious for destroying your home. Good luck with the rehoming. You'll have to find someone looking for a collie, not a golden for it to be successful.

Have you considered a Sheltie? They are great dogs especially with kids. They are also very smart. They aren't that big but will keep up with the kids just fine.

this dog is fully house trained ( except he peed on the real Christmas tree three times) and crate trained. Actually pretty calm. Just wants affection . I think the chewing may stop when he gets his teeth or gums matured. No way to know though. I had a chocolate lab that was five years old and still destructive.

Puppies are going to chew/mouth on stuff. It's inevitable and part of their nature. If you find your dog chewing on something, take it away immediately and give them one of their toys.

I would imagine that all dogs grow out of it with proper training. I did have to get rid of a terrier puppy recently because he was treating my cat(4.5lbs) like a chew toy and we read that terriers have a natural instinct to hunt small creatures and may never grow out of it.

Found our future puppy. I will be bringing home one of these in about 3 weeks. My daughter should have a new best friend :)/>

Far left is a loner. Second from left is a leader, alpha dog. Third from left is probably a good pet. Far right is a snuggler. He (She) may have separation anxieties.

Just guessing.

Haha. I like it.

I'd say they were lucky to get the 4 in the same pic (3.5 weeks old). I'd guess they had to re set them multiple times to get the pick. They are all girls in the pic.

try this chewy rascal of mine for a while. It will cure that desire. I love goldens. Usually pricey.
