AURaptor 1,137
Seriously, this man's lust for attention and grandstanding would make a Roman emperor blush. Entering his last year of his 2nd term, this President is late the the party, yet once again, and tries to lead from behind. Where has he been on this issue ? When the Democrats had BOTH House and Senate, this President, this party did NOTHING. 100's died in his own home town, year after year, and he does NOTHING. And yet, despite the high profile mass shootings, over all gun deaths have been in steady DECLINE. Nothing he proposes would have made one bit of difference in gun violence. Absolutely nothing. So, why do it ? Why waste our time and make lawful gun owners and dealers pay for his incompetence ? Because Obama is a professional community agitator, and not a true leader. I'd have gladly done so, had I heard his show. Not sure when the local market carries him, but I wasn't using his words. Great minds think alike, I suppose. But more likely, it's such a common sense reaction to this President's idiocy that anyone can see through his phony emotionalism and politicizing of an issue. Obama speaks of not attacking the motives of others, then goes on an does exactly that. Oh, that faceless, heartless " gun lobby " ! They don't have their own kids, their own families they wish to protect, right Barry ? Chris Christie got one thing absolutely right. This President is a petulant child. Too blinded by his 'me me me ! ' attitude, I bet the thought never occurred to him to reach out and work with any Republicans and find some middle ground on which all could stand. AURaptor 1,137
Obama did move towards part of a solution, w/ the mental health parts of his speech, but really, the rest of it was such shameless pandering and grandstanding, what ever good he may have done gets lost in his partisan pep rally nonsense. But make no mistake. Obama and the radicals on the Left really do want to take our guns. They're not shy about saying it either. They are content to do it piecemeal fashion, as he's talked about making healthcare single payer. Maybe not today, but in 10, 20 years down the road.... sound familiar ? I have looked at some of the designs out there and they can be hacked, especially the ones with the wireless devices, why because they don't build security in and unfortunately there are flaws with the finger print scanning technology as not everyone would be able to use it as there are known errors with false positives and false negatives. Are you willing to bet your life on whether the device will read your finger print in the heat of the moment? As part of the plan, the defense, justice, and homeland security departments will work together and with the private sector to advance research on so-called smart guns technology. These tools use biometric technology and radio frequency identification, among other methods, to prevent guns from being used by someone other than their owners. This technology could not only help track guns but could also prevent stolen guns from being used, which may cut down on the roughly 500 accidental gun deaths that take place in the US every year. “If we can set it up so you can’t unlock your phone unless you have the right fingerprint, why can’t we do the same for our guns?” Obama said. TheBlueVue 177
"But make no mistake. Obama and the radicals on the Left really do want to take our guns. They're not shy about saying it either." Obama and Clinton have both said as much but the Washington media never reports it. Look at this way...if they dont want to take guns from citizens why do they constantly praise Australia's version of gun control? Australia confiscated guns under the guise of a govt sponsored gun buy back program. "Just as they did when we were assured we could keep our health insurance, the hopelessly corrupt, rotted-out DC Media and Barack Obama are once again coordinating to pull the wool over the eyes of the American people, to lull us into a false sense of security before the boom falls. And make no mistake, the sinister plan is to drop the boom, maybe not on Obama’s watch, but the seeds have been planted: These people plan to flood the country with illegals, refugees, and early-release prisoners, and then disarm us. Chaos reigns. The same federal government that caused the problem poses as savior, and now that same federal government is stronger and more intrusive than ever before. The Left makes no secret of this plan. It’s called the Cloward-Piven Strategy of Orchestrated Crisis. The DC media won’t talk about this because they are all in on it." http://www.breitbart...onfiscate-guns/ G'head shoot the messenger. I know you lefties in here love to discredit this source but the bottom line is simple....an uncomfortable truth is no less true. Port, wireless (which would be stupid) connection, so it could be hacked. Big issue and hurdle is HIPPAA regarding mental health evals. From what I've heard/read this action would mainly affect private sales? Restricting person to person sales b/c of background check requirement? This will do nothing to curb someone getting a firearm who wants to get one to commit a crime or violence. Hell, just do like 3 B/Ms did here in Mt. Juliet, TN, steal a car crash it they front doors of gun shop and take what you want! Not gonna stop the black market of gun sales and those guys are surely NOT concerned about following federal/state gun laws.
