There is a thread for players leaving and his name has yet to be mentioned in it. I'm sure this thread will bs deleted when the mods wake up.

Jovon needs another year of college football of which will greatly increase his status in the draft. If he comes out, he will likely be a free agent at best.

I could see JR going in the late rounds. The problem with sticking around is look at the SO & JR talent out there right now. He will be a late rounder next year as well because of the RB talent in the 2017 draft. Unless of course something happens and he just blows things up or some of the many others have a down year.

He hast the potential to be extremely good, but it looks like he gasses early in games....

That's an intriguing analysis. Care to elaborate?

Hard to get gassed when you don't get to carry the ball in the second half.

See... you guys are ruining it. I wanted Jack to explain himself without help from everyone else who knew there was nothing to back up his comment.

Of course I'm going off the numbers of carries I've seen...... and I'm going by the eye test..... but there was a few times on subsequent carries where he hits the hole without the previous explosion... I'm not sure if he's winded or hampered by a nagging injury... all in all, he has a lot of upside...

Its a reason why he wasn't getting the ball later in the games......... but I'll let yall fans tell it....... <_<

I was hoping this thread was like Lawson's announcement to play in 2016-2017.

I don't think you have to worry about Jovon not coming back. He's got plenty to prove next year and will finally have a whole season to do it.

He wasn't getting the ball later in the games because we started relying on the pass and his blocking skills don't meet the Gus test. Gus even flat out said that.

So the run game was abandoned all together in the 2nd half, or is Barber just that much of a superior blocker that Gus would sacrifice some of the ground game for pass protection on check downs/screens, etc.....

Apparently Gus feels that Barber is that much better of a blocker. It probably also influenced Gus's decision that Barber actually got stronger as the game went on several times this season.

My guess is that Jovon is going to focus on blocking in the off season and come back to be the man, and Barber will take a secondary role.

another factor is money. as I understand it, he is not hurting for that due to some inheritance he received from his father. he knows another year will impact him positively for the next draft, and he won't struggle financially in doing so. just my two cents.

His father was unlawfully murdered by Memphis police, so he got a substantial insurance/lawsuit payment. Fwiw.

Jovon Robinson is by far the best RB on the team. Should he come back, the coaching staff should start him and give him the ball until he asks to come out.

wde

This. He was better than Peyton and more of a big yardage threat... Him being on the field most of the game forces opponents to change the way they play D. We'll see next season hopefully.

Oh my God. Thats terrible. I had no idea that had happenned to him. I cant imagine how hard that would be on family. Whatever choice Jovon makes i hope he finds success.

Totally didn't know that piece of information.
