UGA/Bama Home/Away Schedule for Auburn

I feel like when I was a kid (late Pat Dye years and then the 90's...maybe beyond that even) that any year Auburn had UGA at home we played Bama away and vice versa. Was that the case or am I dreaming that up? And if so, when did it change that we got them both away or both at home each year? I understand that there is more pressing stuff...I was just looking at the 2016 schedule and this always comes up in my mind.

If I remember correctly, it has only been the last two years that they have been the same, but I could be wrong. I know it hasn't been long.

It changed in 2013. Perfect timing for two miraculous endings.

Actually yeah...that is recent (I am getting old, just turned 40 today...it seemed like the change happened a lot longer ago lol). I was just trying to research it online, and in 2010 they played UGA at home and then the Bammers away.

Why the change? I like the schedule better when it is split up, and it would seem, since they are typically a big rivalry match up, that it would make it better for the team to have home field for at least one of those games each year.

Fallout from adding A&M and Mizzou to the SEC

I'm hoping at some point they'll change that nonsense back. Georgia had to play two years in a row in our house as result of the last realignment. I'd gladly play two years in a row there in order to get UGA/BAMA home/away like it used to be.

If they fix it I hope it requires us to go to Athens twice and not Tuscaloosa. Athens is a great college town

That makes too much sense (since they had to play at our house twice in the transition a few years ago) so there's no way the SEC would do it like that.

The alternating of the rivalries was good business. It ensured season ticket sales year-over-year. Biggie is correct. It was fallout from A&M and Mizzou.

Someone who buys season tickets this year is worse off than if they buy individual tickets to most games. But, they do it in order to be in place to buy tickets next year.

Watch your email for "eagles nest" ticket level sales this spring. They will be selling season tickets to all games in the nosebleeds this year.
