Also, Acid Reign at TET has a good rundown.

I hope his projected starting lineup on defense (Cowart-Adams-Lawrence-Lawson, Tre Williams-Javier Mitchell, Carlton Davis-TJ Davis-Ford-Matthews-Holsey) is incorrect, specifically Lawrence, Mitchell, TJ Davis, and Holsey. It would give us only four defensive returning starters in 2017. If this is going to be a rebuilding year, can we at least set it up to where it pays off in the future--you know, the whole point of a "rebuilding year?"

Oh, and to the OP: why would Darius James and Braden Smith switch places?

I read in another thread that Josh Holsey might be eligible for a hardship medical exemption. Does anyone know if this is true, and if so, will he return foe another year?

I was very encouraged by the play of the defense in the bowl game. It was something to build I for 2016.

I do think a big reason why the opener and the bowl game were so much better, was because we were at our healthiest and depth is a concern.

I hope we have built more depth at key positions moving into 2016. Our D Line could be down right nasty!!! I really like our starting D backfield. Depth is a concern there.

The pieces are in place for an outstanding O. Obviously that all hinges on the QB.

I do not see this as being a rebuilding year whatsoever. I see this team being the team that all of the sports talking heads were so high on in 2015. I hope we see a lot of down playing about this team so that when we come out breathing fire and spitting hot coals from day 1 and will continue this all of the way to the final 4.

^Unfortunately the 2016 schedule is astronomically harder than the 2004 schedule. This is why I roll my eyes when people here say they want high-profile OOC games. I wish we had scheduled someone like Purdue instead--and not just because they'd be easier. They're a very similarly-structured school to us.

Thanks for pointing the highlights of JFIII.

His passing was actually more impressive to me than his running. If he doesn't tuck that ball away when he takes off, he'll be a turnover machine for us (or rather against us).

If I have overlooked something please forgive me but I haven't seen one of our top playmakers even mentioned-Kerryon Johnson. Hard to put 6 skilled guys on the field on offense and he not be one of them.

Gonna have to move at least 1 RB to receiver. Roc or Kerryon the most likely. Not really a problem per se as their hands are actually pretty solid.

WR could see some of the new guys I think that and QB are hardest to predict

Tre Threat may come on as LB in second half of season.

Spring may clear up some of the positions

If we need him, I'd take him, but I really hope we don't need Davis Webb to succeed. I'd like a QB out of whom we can get more than one year.

We need him for the sole fact that life happens and QBs get hurt and have surgeries. Can you imagine if we'd had him when JJ had a mental lapse and Sean got hurt along with Queen's surgery?

^That is true, but if we're going to play that many seniors in 2016, there's not going to be much room to lose 5-6 games again, will there? Either win 9-10 games or set up for a big 2017. Do we really want to be "rebuilding" for who knows how many consecutive years?
