Interesting development. UF is not doing that well getting top commitments at DB

Kirk is the son of Sean Callahan, the venerable head coach of Armwood High School in the Tampa area and coach of elite 2015 prospect Byron Cowart, who chose Auburn over Florida on National Signing Day to much fanfare.

Interesting. Also form the article below:

Callahan signed a two-year contract with the Gators, so his departure is likely a firing announced as something softer, and Florida is likely on the hook for his $290,000 annual salary in 2016.

Kind of late for a firing, isn't it? I guess recruiting isn't going to well for this guy. let's not go there unless we have proof

Just strange to do this all of a sudden right before the dead period is about to end. Why not do it just after their bowl game? What would recruits think?

There has to be something that happened to prompt this action right now.

Agreed. I'm not a fan of the Florida staff as it is. I believe they are the worst team that had ever played in an SEC Champ game. They caught a few teams at the right time and got some good breaks. They proved it in the bowl game by losing 41-7 to Michigan. I expect them to fall off a cliff next year and struggle to win more than 6...and possibly a losing season the next year without major staff changes. JMO.

That has to help with Jayvaughn Myers.
