Paid $90 a ticket to see them in Bham sometime around 2001. Worth every penny. One of my all time favorite collaborations, he and Don. Their songwriting was extraordinary and inspires me regularly. Lots of timeless songs those 2 wrote. He will be missed. I highly recommend watching the Eagles documentary if you haven't already.

Edit: it was 2002. How's this for a set list? 28 songs and I knew all of them (in my early 20s...says enough about the band)

I wonder with the passing of Glenn, will this be the end of The Eagles. I really think it should. It's the Bee Gees. When one brother passed away, the other two tried to carry on but it was never the same. Now there's just brother left and he's still trying to rock on. It's very sad.

What a shocker. Has Gleen been sick to cause his death? BTW, 14 years sounds like a break up to me.

it was a breakup. The documentary is on Netflix and will explain it thoroughly. I didn't know until today but He had some long term illness that was under control but complicated for the past several weeks by pneumonia .

it will likely be the end. They have reunited or decided to do another record several times. I think Henley just released a country solo album.

It's been pretty much over anyway. Don Henley is doing other things than eagles music. I listened to him on outlaw country a couple of months ago and he really wants to not do that anymore.

You guys have obviously never watched or listened to the Hell freezes over video/album. The intro when they walk on stage for the first time in 14 years is "For the record, we never broke up; we just took a 14 year vacation." Yes the really broke up. It was a joke they made at their reunion concert.

gotcha

Hated to see this....Eagles and Willie Nelson....always my favorite performers from back in the day. Thanks for the You tube link Around....the nice thing about about the internet and You Tube is that we can enjoy these guys from back in their prime.

Enjoyed listening and watching the young version of Glenn Frey and the Eagles.....the way I like to remember them.

In that version, some great acoustic work and on the more famous recorded/live version, some great electric work.

Most men singing that song are going to have to drop that down a couple of octaves, lol...

Been around original music a long time, covers are hard to listen to sometimes.....a good one is a good one though.
