"The non-partisan CBO said the fiscal 2016 deficit will swell to $544 billion, or 2.9 percent of U.S. economic output, from $439 billion in fiscal 2015. The deficit peaked at about $1.4 trillion in 2009 during the deepest recession since the 1930s.

"The deficit projected by CBO would increase debt held by the public to 76 percent of GDP by the end of 2016," according to CBO."

"CBO also said it forecast U.S. real gross domestic product growth this calendar year at 2.7 percent, slowing to 2.5 percent in 2017"

Thats a $105 billion increase year over year in the deficit, is it not?. Wasn't it just yesterday, that Obama apologists were beating their chests about his diligence in reducing the deficit? Add to that, this recovery averaging less than 3% growth is the slowest coming out of a recession on record.

So, he'll leave office having added $10 trillion to the national debt and the media wont even mention it. For them, the national debt is the same as homelessness, it only matters when a republican is in office. Its gotta be nice being a democrat politician, what with, the way an adoring media always covers for you!

The oldest trick in the political book is to talk about the decreasing Deficit but they never really talk about the National Debt. I read about the info you posted on another site. Shame these politicians will not do what is best for the future of this country all in the name of getting elected.

You're too busy arguing with your straw man to listen to anyone else.

Did you graduate from Auburn?
