but you have to remember, this year was actually UAT's year because they shattered the world record for moral victories and use of the F bomb in a season by a coach...

My hometown newspaper, The Valley Times-News (Lanett), which I have mailed to me here in Louisiana, has voted Auburn the 2004 National Champions. I knew you'd want to know.

Thanks for letting us know, CP. Hey, one opinion poll is as valid as the next.

Hey CT, my dad and brother (The LOUDEST AU fan EVER) were watching with your dad and Mr Fyffe, too. My little brother's been gone 11 years now and I can still hear his WAR EAGLE at every game. Jordan-Hare is the place I feel closest to him.

I heard that, nana... I'm sure there was a huge tailgate going on for each game.

I lost my dad (1960 grad) in August (the 13th), right before the season. As the season progressed, the irony of it all was never lost on me. He wasn't a loud fan, however...but faithfully watched them...since i live out of state, we'd have to wait until Sunday to discuss the ins & outs of the games.

Perhaps my favorite auburn memory w/ daddy is the 1985 Iron Bowl...my first. We had seats behind Auburn's bench (we were dead even w/ vanTiffen when he kicked the winner).

right after the kick sailed through, i looked at daddy...neither of us said anything (didn't have to)... we just grinned & bore it...as we had done at family gatherings all throughout the 70s....

daggum...now i'm tearing up.

war eagle all.
