Auburn Declared Co-NC

Back before the season, we all anxiously awaited WT to call the "nip" indicating it was time for the start of FB. Some even learned what the "nip" is for the first time.

Now it's time to begin a new tradition.......Proud Tiger's declaration of the NC. After careful consideration for three weeks now and objectively looking at all the info available, old PT hereby declares Auburn and USC to be Co-NCs for the 2004 season. I have rank USC #1 based on their record and thrashing OU in the Orange Bowl. And I rank Auburn #1 for winning the chanpionship of the toughest conference in history and, according to the NCAA, playing the 5th toughest schedule in the country compared to 18th for USC. So let's all celebrate Auburn being named PT''s Co-NC by saying:

Interesting that you guys leave Utah out in every discussion...my question is, why do you guys have the divine right to name yourselves NC or whatever...and not UTAH? Arent you doing the same thing to them that you accuse everyone else of doing to you?

It think it is funny that you Bama fans come and hang around here. Do you not have enough action to stay at the BAMA boards. Maybe it could be deep down in your heart that AUburn are NC and you what to celebrate with us. What possibly could you celebrate on the BAMA boards?

I guess talking about the BEAR got bored to you and you decided things were better on the plains. I applaude you BamaGrad03. You have made a good choice to come to our wonderful boards.

Now before you come back at me and talk about how BAMA has won X many NC, all I got to say is.

WAR EAGLE 13-0 NATIONAL CHAMPS!!!!!

I do not care how many NC BAMA won because this is AUburn boards. It is also funny that you take up for Utah because BAMA has nothing going on for them. Do you hang out at the Utah boards?

BGB, I know you didn't mean to do this but you have inadvertently stumbled upon the #1 reason against any organization "naming" a National Champion -- it's just an opinion and nothing more. No one knows for sure who would win in a football game between two teams until they play. Period.

I would like for you to pose your question to the BCS organization, and every other poll out there.

Utah has no claim to the Div. 1 MNC for the same reason as Tommy Bowden's Tulane team, Harvard this year, Rutgers in the early 70's etc. etc.: their schedules were complete jokes. Auburn has a legit. claim this year like Bama did the 1 time it got screwed (the '66 MNC shared by Notre Dame and Mich. St.)

By the way, Bama accepted the 1942 MNC...where they were shut out their last 2 games by Vandy and Miss. St. (and finished 16 in the AP poll) because a biology professor came up with a poll system...in 1980...to award Bama the 1942 MNC. WOW! Talk about living in a glass house and throwing stones!

Actually...yes.

And CT it was an honest question. I wasnt trying to start a flame war. I just never hear you guys give any credit to UTAH. And i think its ironic that you steamroll right over the question of Utah when naming yourselves champion...because it seems that you are doing the same to them that you say the media is doing to you. Thats all.

And for the record, I dont claim the 42 championship. CFBdatawarehouse.com says we have 11. Ill take it. You can nit pick our championships all you want. Thats fine...yall have been doing it forever. But you lose all credibility when you question ours, but claim an internet poll.

Urban Meyer even admits that his team doesn't deserve a share. He said USC, OU, and Auburn all deserved to play in the BCS championship game and that his team had not played as tough a road.

And with all this "why leave Utah out" talk, maybe bama should consider every team in america for their 17 NC's when a team had THE EXACT same record. I mean I guess Toledo should get a NC too for the year they went undefeated.

And BTW... had USC not been preseason ranked ahead of Auburn, Auburn would've been #1 in just about every single poll in America.

How can ANY uat "fan" even use the term MNC? I mean, they are about as close to playing for a MNC as kerry is to the White House!

USC won 13 games and played OU, VT, Cal.....then their weaker teams.

Auburn won 13 games and played LSU, UGA, UT (twice), VT, ...then the weaker teams...Arkansas, Bama, Ole Miss, UK.

Utah won 12 games and played Texas A&M.....then the weaker teams

Tell me, what is your opinion?

OK BG, I've let this thread run a little before responding. Now let me answer in real simple terms even you can understand.

I left Utah out because I wanted to. It's my NC award and my decision is right by definition. No consideration was or will be given to any UAT grad's opinion.

First it's not "you guys", it's me. And why do I have that divine right? Because I'm an Auburn grad and blessed with a divinity no bammer like you could understand.

If you honestly believe that Utah played the quality of competition that we did then you would have an arguement-USC didn't play a schedule as hard as our's

but of course you would argue against an Auburn claim at a NC-you're a bammer

Bama would never ever think about claiming a NC if they were in our position-they would probably claim two because of the injustice

UA---17 times voted #1 in a poll......7 of those were of 5 or more polls
