Nascar crowns the champion on Sunday at Phoenix.  The final 4 are Kyle Larson,  Chase Elliott,  Denny Hamlin, and Martin Truex. Been a good bit of drama the last few races.  Still not putting it past Harvick to fully wreck Chase in the finale since he failed earlier to knock him out of the playoffs.   Larson has been the most dominant this year regarding wins, Denny led in points most of year without winning a race. Chase has been hanging in 5-8 most of the year and winning a couple this year.  Truex has had an up and down year but rolling good now.  Basically winner take all along those 4. Should be great.  Calling for a Chase repeat, unless he gets dusted up by Harvick.  In that case, there will be punches thrown this time.  Sounds like a must watch!

Larson pulls it off.  Caution about 25 laps to go gave Larson the opportunity.  Moved from 4th to 1st on the pit stop.  Truex was chasing him down at the end but Larson crosses 0.35 seconds ahead.  He dominated this year and was the most deserving.

Chase finished 5th. Ran out of steam on the last run.  Hamlin was 3rd.

Great news for Nascar fans with a liking to the history of it.  North Carolina has approved 70-90m in budget to put into the race tracks there,  including 18m to North Wilkesboro!  They plan to bring it back to life.  This is one of long time Nascar drivers favorite tracks.  This can largely be praised to Dale Earnhardt Jr.  He highlighted it on his Lost Speedways show on Peacock. He also took a crew out to remove the weeds and trash from the track surface to allow for a digital scanning of the track to be used by iracing. The track debuted during the pandemic last year, to much praise throughout the Nascar community.  Exciting news for sure.

I always loved Rockingham. Close finishes and just great racing.

I love Lost Speedways on peacock by Dale Jr. Finds these lost and abandoned speedways and tells the history of it.  That's what racing should be.  Good old tracks with character.

Clash at the Coliseum  tonight at 6ET. This is the exhibition event before the season starts in Daytona.  Normally this is run at Daytona.  First time elsewhere.  They've converted the LA Coliseum into a .25 mile race track.  Beautiful track setup.  This is a smaller track than the standard .50 mile track like Bristol etc. Watching heat racing right now and this will be some fun racing tonight.  On Fox.

Wow, what a fun race! This was a huge success and really hard to tell this is not a real track. Brought in a lot of LA celebrities etc.  Tough to pass without banging and bumping, which happened.  Logano got the win.  Oh and the new cars look awesome.

Daytona 500 winner is rookie Austin Cindric! He won the Xfinity series last year.  Chevys struggled a bit and stayed near 10th to 15th. Ford and Toyota looks good early in the new car returns.  Had some pretty big crashes as usual with restrictor plates. Brad K. ended 2 drivers days with bad bump drafting too long. Anyways.  Fun race.  Looking forward to the season.
