A New Hampshire state Representative and President Donald Trumpsupporter who once said Hillary Clinton should be “shot for treason” was invited to a White House bill signing on Friday.

New Hampshire state Rep. Al Baldasaro visited the White House Friday for the signing of the Veterans Accountability and Whistleblower Act.

Last year on a radio show, Baldasaro called for Clinton to be shot for her handling of the 2012 Benghazi attack.

“This whole thing disgusts me,” Baldasaro said. “Hillary Clinton should be put in the firing line and shot for treason.”

The Baldasaro White House invite comes after several high-profile incidents in which the Trump administration has denounced casual references to violence against Trump, including; actress Kathy Griffinholding a decapitated Trump head, a New York theater company depicting Trump’s graphic death in Julius Caesar, and actor Johnny Depp asking “When was the last time an actor assassinated a President?”

During Friday’s White House press briefing, Press Secretary Sean Spicer again condemned those incidents.

“The President’s made it clear that we should denounce violence in all of its forms,” Spicer said (in remarks which preceded the clip posted above).”And I think that if we’re going to hold to that standard, then we should all agree that that standard should be universally called out and so when those actions are depicted and I think we saw, you know, a couple folks in the media and some other places tweet out their support for that show. I’m not sure that that’s a smart thing to do.”

He was then asked, however, about Baldasaro’s White House invite. He said he wasn’t aware of the New Hampshire Representative’s remarks about Clinton.

“Anybody who goes out and tries to highlight those kind of actions should not be welcome,” Spicer said. “I’m not aware of the comments he made but again, I’ll say it right now. I don’t think that we should be resorting to that kind of language with respect to anybody in our country.”

Baldasaro, for his part, Tweeted the following:

Fake News, nothing new! Nobody advocated shooting Hillary, just an opinion in accordance with law & CONSTITUTION on treason. @POTUS #MAGA https://twitter.com/WashTimes/status/878314638328217601
