 It’s been great following the UT dumpster fire. No idea who Fulmer wants, but I don’t see them getting anyone elite with the way this search has been handled. It will be a Dooley part II if you ask me. Glorious

Are Fulmer & Steele buddies?  They both are old school guys.  That kind of scares me.

Not sure if they are buddies. However, Steele has said that he doesn’t want to be a head coach and that AU would be his last gig. I’ll hang my hat on that for now.

Yeah, I know he has said that.  BUT...  If he and Fulmer are buddies and UT is his alma mater, then he may go there for a few years as HC & have T Martin as OC\HC in waiting.  That would be right up the alley of something Fulmer would pull.

Saying he went rogue with the leach interview. Got him to agree in principle and when he came back to get it finalized they put an end to it. Supposedly was sent out to interview Tee Martin, instead.

Tennessee: If the Vols fired AD John Currie for cause they potentially owe him nothing. However, Jesse Simonton tweets, per his contract, if he is being fired for convenience, the Vols owe his $100,000 for each of the next 54 months (for those slow at math, that’s $5.4 million). Clearly John Currie leaned on his friend Jeff Long’s advice when structuring his contract.

Interesting....Guess if I could have gotten Leach at this point I would have thought myself lucky....but orders are orders.....lots of media hype for Martin...on the radio ?.....so guess PTB's want a Vol....with no HC experience....

According to one of the UT fans I know, they would have cause.  The AD went to purpose a contact to Leach and the prez found out and told him not to make the offer.  Currie decided to go ahead and speak to Leach anyway.  Sounds like disobeying direct order.

It's been reported from a former Vol player that the package of: Lane - HC; Steele - DC and T Martin - OC was turned down. This is crazy! I actually thought Leach would be a good hire for them considering the fiasco that has gone on. They would've match well b/c both he and the fans are crazy!

yeah, I thought Leach would be a good fit for the fan base.  HAHA  I don't see Fulmer bringing Kiffin in.  I have heard Fulmer on local radio show in HSV a lot over the years and he has never had anything good to say about Kiffin.  EVER.  But like I said, Steele as DC & T Martin as HC in waiting...  That is scary

It's just hard for me to imagine Steele making a lateral move to TN. He has a nice setup at AU on defense. Unless he just wants a HUGE challenge, no way i'm leaving a stacked defense to go to TN.
