LKEEL75 2,567
This weekend will be my wife's first trip to AU. She grew up in VA and has really never caught the football fever since moving to AL almost 18 years ago. She always pulls for AU because I do but I want her to see why we are AU fans. Unfortunately we can't come down before Sat morning and I we can't stay Sat evening. So I have to pack as much AU family into 1 day as I can. I know game starts at 3 so my first question is what time will tiger walk be? Other than that I need top picks (other than rolling Toomers and lemonade) of what to be sure to show her. I am ashamed that I havent been more since leaving there many years ago but it has always held such a special place in my heart and mind that going back was both painful and joyful. So I have forgotten lots and missed a lot of new traditions. So please fill me in on your ideas of "can't misses"! CT Tiger 136
Teach her Bodda Getta and make sure you're in the stadium for the eagle flying! TigerOne 1,523
Here is the schedule of events and times, pay close attention to bag and purse info under stadium rules the second link https://auburntigers.com/sports/2018/6/11/gameday-primer-html.aspx https://auburntigers.com/sports/2018/8/3/football-gameday-stadium-rules.aspx Link to comment https://www.aufamily.com/topic/164148-my-wifes-first-trip-to-the-plains/#findComment-2925220 Share on other sites
abw0004 10,793
I would teach her ahead of time the shaker movement (I don't know what else to call it) right when we kick the ball. I would also make sure you are in the stadium an hour beforehand so she can see all of the pageantry. To make her trip more pleasant, bring $15 in cash to rent the blue seat backs IF your seat does not already have one. For lunch you could also do Momma Goldbergs or get a lemonade. Yeah I didn't think about this. I will show her some YouTube videos to help her get ready! 1 hour ago, TigerOne said: Here is the schedule of events and times, pay close attention to bag and purse info under stadium rules the second link https://auburntigers.com/sports/2018/6/11/gameday-primer-html.aspx https://auburntigers.com/sports/2018/8/3/football-gameday-stadium-rules.aspx Thanks for the links. The schedule is especially helpful. Doubt we will carry any bags in so we should be good there. 1 hour ago, abw0004 said: I would teach her ahead of time the shaker movement (I don't know what else to call it) right when we kick the ball. Good suggestion on the seat backs but the seats I got actually already have them so that saves me a few bucks. Linayus 676
Maybe go by the Arena beforehand and let her take in Auburn's tradition of "winning" in different sports? (Not sure if they've moved the BCS crystal ball trophy to the new locker room area but all the sports are well represented there!)
