Their dad was a message board douche, but those kids played their hearts out for Auburn.

Yeah I wouldn’t have been on any message boards in that time period. 2003-04 was my first year being old enough to really appreciate football. Kenny Irons was one of the first running backs outside of Ronnie and Caddie that defined what an Auburn running back should be.

Always sucks when those guys get hurt in the pros.

As much as I love Ronnie and Caddie, Kenny is probably my favorite AU RB this millenia.

He is/was mine without a doubt.  Absolutely loved how he attacked the LoS.  He ran so violently, it was awesome to watch.

And always hit the defender before they could hit him. He was ferocious

That's a fantastic word to use to describe his play.  If you wanted to tackle him, or even get in his way, you damned sure better have been willing to pay for it.

I wish we could find a back with his attitude and abilities. Recruiting stars be damned

If we could just find the next Eddie Gran.  That guy convinced Brandon Jacobs to come to Auburn with Ronnie and Caddie both on the roster.  He probably could've sold gasoline to a man on fire and knew how to evaluate a RB for not only ability but intestinal fortitude.

Horton has been looking for another job for at least 2 years. Considering our lack of RB recruiting, should Gus just bite the bullet and replace him? Just seems like maybe he and AU would both benefit from a change. I'm all for coaches improving their career, but at some point you should either be in or out. I know AU made a run at Dell McGhee, what was the plan if he had came here?
