Your opinions: Republican Candidates for Governor?

Ivey: Memaw. Known quantity. trump butt kisser. Seems to be a reasonable choice. Too conservative for me. 

Blanchard: Heard this whackadoodle on WVNN this AM while at an office. Her whole campaign? "Ivey is not conservative enough!" WTF? Total Bat-crapper

Burdette: Sounds like me in his ads. But he is still just another Right-winger. He is correct, we have had 40 years of failure at the state level. Does he really mean it?

George: Morgan County nutjob. Most in Morgan County just laughed when he decided to run. He may not be actually sane. In it for him.

James: Retread Alabama GOB. Part of the problem, not any part of the solution.

Odle: Probably a likeable guy but...MAGA Pastor, trump ass kisser. Could not be a worse candidate.

Zeigler: Republican Usual Suspect-Another run of the mill pol. Been in office for several years. Not much on his resume other than Bentley Scandal.

Haven't really followed it much. I'm kind of resigned to Alabama being Alabama on the State level. 

 

My uninformed opinion would be that Kay Ivey will win the primary and re-election pretty easily. 

 

She's not a great Governor, but I also don't think she's terrible, which is likely as good as Alabama can do.

Pretty good analysis. Not thrilled with any of them, especially George. He is an egotistical obscure , rural former county commissioner.

I don’t get it. Perhaps  it is just Alabama’s DNA, but SO many people in this state , when they are elected to a small town’s city council or as a county commissioner from an out-of-the-way county, automatically become the smartest person in the room. They think they will become the next Huey P Long or George C Wallace.

Odle is a flat earther.  Like, I'm not saying that as an insult.  The nutbag is literally a believer that the earth is flat.  There's not a bigger wacko in the field than him.

Ivey is a conservative and old-fashioned, but sane.  The rest of the field is varying degrees of crazy.
