Popular Post TitanTiger 20,472
We are updating our rule about keeping political matters out of the sports forums to include debates on controversial social and cultural issues as well. We have a politics forum for hashing this sort of stuff out. The sports and other forums here are for folks to be able to discuss sports and other subjects and get a respite from the stuff that dominates the news, social media, and other online discourse. So discussions about things like sexuality, racial issues, abortion, and things of this ilk need to go in the Politics forums - even if it involves a player or coach. To be clear, we are not shutting down discussions like this, even if they pertain to Auburn or other college/SEC athletes, schools and coaches. We are saying, discuss those aspects in the forums dedicated to those more controversial and hot button topics. Let the sports and other forums be a break from the constant bickering over political, social, and cultural issues that can be found and discussed everywhere else. This includes accusations and insinuations about the motivations of members here. It's bogging down threads and detracting from the main point of the forums it appears in. Mods and admins have some discretion on the extremely rare exceptions, but the rule is - don't push it. If in doubt, take it to the political forums where those who like getting into that stuff and have at it and those who don't can leave it be. Repeat or especially egregious violations of this can result in temporary suspension of posting privileges or a permanent ban. Thank you. 4 7 1 1
