I believe the app also uses your default bracket to compare with official bracket as the games move forward.  Have to set up an account as with any service that plays.

I actually set it to allow brackets to join after locking picks to give time to add players.  Just a fun way to see who did it better.  My problem is I can't decide which bracket I like better and we only choose 1 for this one.
